I'e come across another Countach that there has never been a photo of anywhere.

It is a red with black interior LP500S new to someone called Harvey Michael and registered A266SYM and then JR35.

Does anyone have a photo of a Countach on either of these number plates by any chance?

Hope you are all enjoying the hot weather.

Robert

1NKO was sold with a lamborghini espada to a UK customer in the early 70s. 11NKO was then used as a show plate. I know this because my grandad still owns the plate. It is still on a running car

If you want more information about this feel free to contact me at: inneedofaholiday@hotmail.com

Anyone remember the Acapulco Blue Jalpa (one time owned by the owner of DTR Engineering in Mortlake London). Used to see this car parked outside and a couple of times a week when I lived in the area. I finally went in for a chat and the bloke was loving his car, did alot of work on it himself. Struggling to find a photo of his car, however it was featured in Auto Italia car magazine in the late 1990's.

I remember too that there was another Acapulco blue Jalpa with silhouette wheels and cream interior with blue piping. Remember seeing that with Colin Clarke Engineering (another top bloke who really knows his beans) back in 2004/5. I'll dig a pic when I find them. If anyone has pics of these beauties, wack them on pleeeeeeaaaaaasssseee.
The first one is GLA12283
Used to have these registrations: C703 BYX, SOP1Y. J40 LPA and C14 CJC

The second is JLA12405, J 687, now F 453 UPC, originally Canna di fucile resprayed to Acapulco blue

There are also two more
DLA12064 reg.B310WYE under restoration
ELA12134 originally Tahiti blue, from switzerland to Germany to London, reg J8LPA, sold to south of france

Do these ring any bells with you Bob...? Taken in London despite the foreign plates, the Urraco is 1973 and the LP400 is 1975...

The LP400 is most likely #1120216, was it yellow with black hide?

This photograph was taken on Sunday 28th October 1973 in Cheam Surrey.
Roger Phillips and I had removed the Countach from Earls Court for a test drive before the car was returned to Italy.
TGC55M was our demonstrator that I had driven back from the factory the month before.
Customers who purchased a Lamborghini were given the option of having the car collected from the factory by transporter or the car would be collected by me or another driver and driven back to the UK. A distance of about 1000 miles. The car was then serviced by Del Hopkins or Bob West and then delivered to the customer having been run in and any teething problems fixed. I am happy to say that many customers opted to receive a 'run in' car! Not a bad job for a 23 year old.
That's #1120001, I refound 2000 and is since 2001 on Display in the Lamborghini Factory Museum.

Afraid I don't know Raymond, I didn't take the photo, I found it online years ago.

I have finally managed to locate a photo of my current Jarama restoration project #10024 when it was on the 1970 Earls Court motor show stand. Unfortunately its only black and white, but the car at this point was white with a burgundy interior. I doubt it was actually registered at this point but was to be assigned ELB420J and used as a press test car. We also now know that it was to be returned to the factory some months later to be resprayed Brown and be retrimmed in Beige with Silver/Grey cloth inserts. This interior (or at least most of it) was still present when I purchased the car a couple of years ago though it had gone through further paintwork changes from blue to its current yellow. As documented earlier in this thread, Bobthecop drove the car back to UK from the factory once the Brown/Beige refurbishment was completed - I guess that would have been around the autumn of 1971.

If anyone has further photos of the car from around this era, I'd love to see them.

That Jarama looks fantastic in white, like the Top Trumps card I drooled over as a kid in the 70s. Is it returning to that spec?

As far as I' aware, this is also the same car though without the reg present it cannot be verified. However, given there were only 3 RHD first series Jaramas imported and I know one of the other ones was Red, its pretty likely to be my car.

The car is currently Yellow and the paintwork is quite good so I can't really justify a respray at this stage.

In case you've not seen it, this is a nice bit of period film footage of one of the other 3 UK cars.

Nice clip. There are some gems hidden in the Chicken Pate News. And you can reminisce like an old fart about how quiet the roads used to be.

This is the top trumps card mentioned above. Its not Earls Court and I presume it is not yours ? But it is an early white Jarama

No, not mine, LHD and beige interior though it still looks to be another very early one with no front wing vents.

This photo was taken in August 2009 but I stumbled across it tonight and thought it might be of interest to those discussing Acapulco blue Jalpas.

That would be my car. Just back from a load of engine work. MSD, carb setup, engarged jets, etc. Now making 20 more hp than the official figures.
