Anyone remember the Acapulco Blue Jalpa (one time owned by the owner of DTR Engineering in Mortlake London). Used to see this car parked outside and a couple of times a week when I lived in the area. I finally went in for a chat and the bloke was loving his car, did alot of work on it himself. Struggling to find a photo of his car, however it was featured in Auto Italia car magazine in the late 1990's.
I remember too that there was another Acapulco blue Jalpa with silhouette wheels and cream interior with blue piping. Remember seeing that with Colin Clarke Engineering (another top bloke who really knows his beans) back in 2004/5. I'll dig a pic when I find them. If anyone has pics of these beauties, wack them on pleeeeeeaaaaaasssseee.

Wow, that is a superb story, well done to him for going for it.
Regarding the other car owners I chatted to the guy who owned the orange Urraco quite a few times over the years, seem to think he was a BT engineer but I might be mistaken. Funnily enough I have a feeling this was the first time I had seen a Lamborghini being driven on the road, in those days I had a motorcycle so chased after him towards the M1 motorway and seem to remember being very impressed at the speed it went round the corners near Annesley in Nottinghamshire.
He was a great guy to chat to and always reminded me of Captain Birdseye because he had a beard - apologies if he's reading this!
I remember he took me out for a blast in the Urraco at one of the Carrera Sport test days at Goodwood, only thing was that because there was already a passenger in the front seat he insisted I sat across the back seat of the car rather than in it, when I enquired why he said that he had rolled the car the previous year! Anyway off we went and credit due to the guy he took it steady, though I do remember an awful lot of smoke appearing in the cabin which was somewhat disconcerting, but what the heck I was in a Lamborghini at break-neck speed on a race circuit, OK I might have made that bit up, only to look left as we were overtaken by a Toyota people carrier which appeared to be almost on two wheels. Am pretty sure he had a private reg on the Urraco but can't for the life of me remember the number. Now that I have a bit more spare time will take a look through all my old photos to see if I can find anything. Great days.

Check page 1 of this thread. I saw an orange Urraco at a Lambo club day at Syon Park. It was a bit scruffy and I seem to recall it had a sign in the window welcoming people to have a sit in it.
698R is the registration number.

That will be this one I think. For some reason I think his name was something like Lee Miller. This was taken at Silverstone 1997.

Actually talking of old Top Gear does anyone recall them doing the test drives of the Countach QV and Testarossa together around 1985/86?
Would love to see that again.

The magazine is called Alternative Cars and they really didn’t like the car.
The July 1983 had the main article entitled Dreamcar or Disaster. Then the August 1983 edition carried the more damning article by Tim Dutton entitled ‘Shattered Dreams’.
I have both. At some point if I can I will scan/snap and post on here.

Hello Steve, great to have you on here sharing info about your Countach.
If you haven’t already scrolled through from the start you will see quite a few snaps of it. I loved seeing it each time back in those days at Goodwood or Castle Combe. Always great entertainment seeing you and Mike on track.
Swear I can recall when Mike cut through the chicane to nip in front of you at Goodwood one year.
Please share any more photos you have. Many on here would love to see them.
Thanks

In the early nineties I was able to visit Maranellos a couple of times a year.
In 94 as I pulled into the forecourt I saw a purple SE30 and F40 lined up.
I was so distracted by what I saw that I clipped the concrete bollard with the rear passenger door of the car I was driving, making an awful sound and a complete mess of the door and rear quarter.
I parked up feeling quite flustered and jumped out to inspect the damage. As too did one of the salesman accompanied by, yes you’ve guessed, Jay Kay - but weirdly it never registered at the time. He mentioned something to me but I was too busy apologising to the salesman for scuffing the bollard.
I then stood there as he went back to the Lambo, jumped in and howled down the road, F40 in tow.
Assuming all in prep for the Cosmic Girl video?!
Gutted as I didn’t get time to photograph them.
I had to make do with humdrum Ferraris and, a favourite of mine, a new Lancia Delta Integrale in giallo fly.
Oh and the car I was driving was my Dad’s Citroen ZX Volcane TD (fab little car), which was being handed back to the supplying dealer the next day, exchanging for a new Volcane. To say he was unimpressed doesn’t begin to cover it.
Cheers

Just catching up on the old photo's thread, and, lo and behold my old motor shows up! I take it you all know this is the BBC "Fair Game" car from 1994.
I sold it back in 2005, to a Japanese gentleman. I assumed it was a strange buy being LHD for use in a RHD market, but, as they say 'there's no accounting for taste'. Anyway a couple of years ago I had a phone call from the new owner, in the UK, who told me he had bought the car and it was awaiting shipment to the UK from California. Seemingly it went out to the US in 2005 after being repainted yellow in the UK. The Red it was painted, in the photo, was the Peugeot 205 Vallelunga Red. The car is currently in Italy being completely restored, it has been painted it's original colour of Lime Green. Once it comes back to the UK I have been offered a drive of it, so, no doubt I can do one of "arry's" test drives on U-Tube in it. As an aside when I scraped all the paint off it, circa 1982, it had already been Lime Green, Mid Blue and Yellow, I painted it Red, the next owner back to Yellow and now Lime Green again. Moral of story, the paint companies have made quite a profit out of this particular car!
Your Miura in Fair Game was fabulous, got a reasonable amount of air time and good action filming too. I used to have that film on VHS but not sure now. Never seem to see it shown on telly anymore sadly.I sold it back in 2005, to a Japanese gentleman. Amazing how many colour changes one car has gone through!
With regards to Japan and the LHD configuration - apparently LHD is big in Japan, something of a status symbol and something special if you like, to have a left hooker. For example, so many of the Countaches in Japan are LHD. I'll never understand it either.

Thank you and glad you’ve enjoyed it. It’s been nice to be able to share them. When I was taking those pictures of course there was no internet or even the concept of such a thing so I had no idea I’d be able to share them this way.
And it’s been great to see others contribute too. In an age now where everyone can seemingly take limitless digital images, these period photos are precious gems.

Bit of a thread resurrection....were these the track days organised by Mike at Carrera Sport in Haywards Heath?
Yes that is correct, these were Mike Pullen's events. I went on and off between 1988 and 1992 I think.Similar events were held at castle Combe but these tended to be the De Tomaso drivers club events.
