I think it was 1997 as they were completing the pit area and grass banks for the forthcoming first Rivival in 1998 but can't remember what month ,most were held on bank holidays so maybe May day or Whitsun and August ,

After saying that it could have been 1998 as it was the first time i'd been black flagged by decibel police owing to lower levels to keep the
local council happy to get the planning permission for the official unsilenced racing for the Revival.

Memory not as good as it was so could stand corrected.

I remember the Viola SE30 turning up although didn't know it was Peter Saywells car, Someone said he had only collected the car that morning but i don't know if that was true or not.
We were probably standing next to each other that day, yes I think was the very day he got the car. It had the same plate that later ended up on his Pagani. Those roof scoops were distinctive on the Jota and all these years later I can still remember the engine noise! I took a load of photos at those events but two house moves later have no idea where they went.

The Jota still is a stunning looking car today but back then, I think i can safely say it stole the show that day.

I was at Maranello's when Jay Kay pulled up in his Jota , Made me smile as he had a cute scruffy mongrel dog with him
on a tatty piece string improvising as a lead, Probabaly more casual then than now.

I don't live to far from Goodwood so nice place to pop into to see what's going on,shame about this year, lets hope things improve
for next year.

Jay Kay had a standard SE30 not a Jota, unless he had another one that I've never known about.

In the early nineties I was able to visit Maranellos a couple of times a year.
In 94 as I pulled into the forecourt I saw a purple SE30 and F40 lined up.
I was so distracted by what I saw that I clipped the concrete bollard with the rear passenger door of the car I was driving, making an awful sound and a complete mess of the door and rear quarter.
I parked up feeling quite flustered and jumped out to inspect the damage. As too did one of the salesman accompanied by, yes you’ve guessed, Jay Kay - but weirdly it never registered at the time. He mentioned something to me but I was too busy apologising to the salesman for scuffing the bollard.
I then stood there as he went back to the Lambo, jumped in and howled down the road, F40 in tow.
Assuming all in prep for the Cosmic Girl video?!

Gutted as I didn’t get time to photograph them.
I had to make do with humdrum Ferraris and, a favourite of mine, a new Lancia Delta Integrale in giallo fly.

Oh and the car I was driving was my Dad’s Citroen ZX Volcane TD (fab little car), which was being handed back to the supplying dealer the next day, exchanging for a new Volcane. To say he was unimpressed doesn’t begin to cover it.

Cheers
SS.

Started going up to Maranello's when Daytona's and Dino's where new stock .I would drive up there on a Sunday
or in the evening during the week , 65 miles plus and put my nose against the showroom window , just stand there looking, wearing
a big grin thinking how can i make my first million. I was about 21 around then.

Although having bought two pretty tired Ferrari's before hand i had to wait till the early eighties before i bought a Ferrari from them and still had the same feeling of excitement every time i drove onto their forecourt ,did for years especially when they showed me their new F40 that had just arrived and was still hidden around the back ,That excitement never went away as there was fewer Ferrari's around then , not so much now with the modern stuff, I can go up to Sloan Street and see hundreds of them.

Also use to visit Tala Crest while i was in Egham then over to Thorpe to see what was parked at the workshop
I think my girl friend /wife thought i was having a affair with someone in Surrey.

Then in the mid to late eighties found myself in George Street selling my soul to the Devil.

Lucky you only damaged the pole not one of their Ferrari's ,the worst was having to tell your dad i would have thought
especially as it was being p/ex the next day, Great story,

Ye your probably wright, it was in that Viola colour ,can't remember if it had the roof scoops or not,

More preoccupied that Jay Kay had just got out of it with this scruffy little dog on a string and being the period
that he was at the top of his game maybe a little star struck.

Probably because of the colour i assumed it was a Jota, Wasn't that educated with Diablo's back then.

Didn't he have two Viola Diablo's, I read somewhere one got written off and the other got damaged.

No, Kay's SE30 didn't have the Jota roof scoops. I have read that he did get a second SE30 after his original was wrecked but don't know if that is true. The car used in the Cosmic Girl video was acquired/borrowed in order to do the video. That car was also damaged and if you look closely you can see the windscreen is missing.

JK car was crashed in the Kings Road by one of his friends before the video, it was patched up hence in missing window screen .

I was told by a very reliable source, way back when, that a RHD viola SE30 was damaged whilst being transported in a shipping container.

This was Jay Kay's SE30. It never made it to the video shoot.

How would you do that much damage in the Kings Rd, Really unlucky damaging both of them, lucky they didn't need a third one.

Please could someone help me by telling me how to change the ancient email address that I currently carry on my PH account.

I'm trying to PM P5BNij , but as per his reply above , but his PH account doesn't work , and my attempts to update my PH email account has ended in failure .

More specifically , I can get to the account page on my PH profile ( where it says that my old , no longer accessible , email address is verified ) , and I can even highlight the old email address . But i cannot then move on to the next step of deleting the old email address , and so cannot create the empty space into which to type my current email address .

My apologies for the thread hijack , but the PM that I am trying to initiate with P5BNij does involve the Countach .

Thank you for any help that you might be able to offer
