Apparently one of Rod Stewart's Miuras had similar indentations in the roof lining.

Ha Ha very funny, they must have been short girls. Didn't have that problem with the SL ,you just remove the detachable hard top and the sky's the limit and the length of the legs.

I once saw Rod Stewart in his Diablo. There was a bus dawdling ahead, fairly narrow road. He got impatient, up on the kerb doing god knows what to the underside of the car, past the bus and off into the sunset! It was a lowish kerb but still....

Ye,but it's Rod Stewart he can do that and get away with it ,he's such a cheeky chappy ,I assume it was a modern car at the time so with his money it can be replaced or repaired ,Imagine a SVJ doing that today in Kensington , the local resldence will have the driver lynched or worse.He's a legend and the epitome of a rock star .Rod Stewart,blondes and Lamborghini's just go together. Does anyone know if he has owned a white Espada in the early days,I was outside a pub in the Kings Road back in the day and there was a guy who looked like Rod,hair,clothes ,similar height with this Espada ,half on the pavement and road,to this day i don't know if it was or wasn't hlm ,A lot of fans dressed up to like their heroes in those days especially in London.

In relation to the numberplate INKO - my father owns this plate. He was the chap who owned his own printing business.

He purchased this from Del/Roger back in the 70s when he purchased his first Lamborghini Espada in red. It was the demonstrator number plate used in the UK at the time. He then purchased a white Lamborghini Espada that quickly turned into a lovely yellow one... before he moved on to a number of different vehicles including a Lotus Esprit Turbo.

He still has it and it now sits on a Peugeot (bit of a come down)... he's very much loved looking at all these pictures and it has brought back some great memories for him.

I will try and look out some of the old photos that we have and upload them.

Sad update to this thread, Mike Perry passed away last night. He was a good mate and after Portman went on to run Connaught Cars in Chelsea.

Then went to work for Horacio Pagani (a contact he made when both were at Lamborghini) and latterly was managing racing drivers.

Sorry to here this,very sad news ,only knew him from Portman days and later Connaught Cars then lost contact. My condolences to his family and friends.

Oh no that’s awful. How tragic and what sad news. Still a young man relatively speaking but from what we know he clearly was lucky to have combined his passion for cars and boats with a good livelihood.

What happened?

Last bumped into him a few years ago at Mike Pullen’s picking up my Countach. He looked over the car and we had a nice chat. Loved his photo in the LM on his Facebook page.

Sadly cancer. We used to talk regularly then about a month ago he said he wasn't feeling great. Went into Barts and was due to start chemo this week.

Quite sudden and unexpected really and up until last week we were still talking about cars though obviously from his voice he was very weak and we had a few text exchanges over the weekend as it was hard for him to talk.

He was great company to meet up with and shoot the breeze for a few hours, will be sadly missed by many in Lambo world and the racing community.

Oh yes indeed, he was huge fun to talk about the old days with. The hair raising stories of selling Lambos in Central London in the 80's and the kind of characters he met on a daily basis were like a caper movie.

BEST video yet from our friend Lain Tyrrell .He's back again with a another masterpiece Lain really has excelled himself on this one. I expect most of you guys have seen it already but for those who haven't it's title is "THE ITALIAN JOB MIURA , FIRST TIME BACK IN THE ALPS",Call me emotional old fool but on this one i really had to hold back the tears ,the Miura is so achingly beautiful and with that backdrop. In the interview with Marcello Gandini i couldn't get over what a modest quiet man he is and comes over very humble considering what he has achieved.
He's a man of many talents is our Mr Tyrrell as searching google i stumbled on more video's but not connected with cars. Try "CARRY ON MEETS CLOUSEAU" , you can also find him singing live on NBC TV some years ago and more recently live at the KALEIDOSCOPE JAZZ CAFE in Cape Town ,these can be found on "LAIN TYRRELL MOMENTS" . on "You Tube".Maybe he will do some impressions and a song or two while introducing his "Tyrrell's Classic Workshop" . Anyone care to link it,thanks.

I've known him for many years, I'm sure he did tell me that once as well as many other adventures in the pre-camera days.

Not sure how far back you and Mike went but this has been bugging me as i don't think i met him at Portman ,memory not what it was but i think he may have worked at a small super car showroom on the A40 Western avenue ,it was owned by accountant who loved exotic cars by the name of Rogan Decker,not sure if i spelt that wright.
I think it may have been the same premises that "Sparks" traded from after Rogan was there. I bought and sold them a few cars and i am pretty sure Mike was working there at the time and he then went to Portman and we continued to do business together again there and at Connaughts.

All this was going on though the 80's.Can you shed some light on this as although not that important where i met him ,it would be nice to confirm or otherwise if i am wright or wrong.

I only knew him from Portman and we lost contact for about ten years then reconnected again in the 2000's so you would have known him before me.
