Thanks Paul, are there any pictures of the premises you could scan in to show me?

Hi Matt

Sorry don't have any of those. Were 4 lambo dealers in Mid 70's. Were other places doing service work including one in Glasgow who were all approved.

The old mechanic who worked there was in his 70's and looked me out at Alford show near Aberdeen last year.

They also did other then exotic cars! I think Marcos and one or two others?

Interesting stuff Paul, the site is now a Evans Halshaw Vauxhall dealer....would be great to see it with some Lambos parked outside.

Don't know whether this is appropriate but a few shots of the rather lovely Muira which attended the March 2010 Goodwood Breakfast Club. I can only presume the owner has a friend with a 250 GT SWB...

... that orange Miura is owned by yet another ex-member of LCUK and I believe the Ferrari is his as well ...

Was there a light blue De Tomaso Mangusta at that event as well? Whether that Mangusta was there or not, the same chap owns that car which I think was the De Tomaso used by Kylie for one of her vid-ay-o's for that catchy ditty where her bits-of-frock only stayed on by the miracle of sticky tape ...

Hello fellow PistonHeads. I am working on a big book for Taschen entitled Ultimate Collector Cars. One of the cars we are including is a rather fine 1971 Miura SVJ, which was sold by RM Sothebys a few years ago. In support of the primary photography of this car I am in desperate need of some contextualising historic images, such as original factory photos. I have seen David Price's posting of some beautiful period imagery of a Jota. Can you please tell me where I may source this? Or, how may I get in touch with David Price. Lamborghini HQ cannot help. Many thanks for any help you can give.

David, a belated thank you for posting pictures of your sublime Jarama (no pun intended).

Apologies for hijacking a '60's thread with a request for images of a '73 car.
Your car looks superb.

Anybody know the history of this Miura?, I saw it at the classic car show in the NEC last year and remember reading an info sheet about it saying it was owned by a celebrity back in the 70's/80's (can't remember which decade exactly) anybody know who that celebrity was?.
It also mentioned that the car was damaged by fire and sent back to Lambo for a rebuild?.
Anyway less of the talking more pics, sorry for the quality as the pictures were taken on an iphone and it was the 1st Miura I'd seen up close so I was a bit excited hehe.

That's not an oem paint color is it?????

Pretty sure it is an original colour - this car once belonged to Twiggy's manager and boyfriend Justin DeVillenueve and has a very good history. The fire damage happened when it was in for some attention and the car sat next to it caught fire. There is or was a clip of it being driven by a journalist on youtube which included an interview with the current lady owner (Jane something.... I believe she also owns a blue Espada).

A few pics of Jane's Miura, from the 'Italian Job' themed Pendle Powerfest in 2016. Very rare RHD ex-Twiggy car. I noticed it had a dent in the front wing, and when I asked her, she had bumped it on a hill climb event the previous day (ouch!) Thanks to jane I have now sat in my dream car...

In a recent magazine featuring car collectors, Jane and her son showed their collection of nearly 40 cars. The AC428 , Iso Grifo, and XJ220 being some of the memorable ones

Interesting stuff in here but thread is a bit old. If any of the 1960s/1970s period Miura pics actually turned up (partic Alie St era) there is a finder's fee in it for someone if usable in print res. Book in progress... Please DM me or via https://www.miurabook.com Thanks!

R.A. Woolsgrove was my dad. He passed in 2001. I live in the States now, but I’m pretty sure my Mum has some old paperwork etc from his time at Alie Street.

as promised...

information about the Lamborghini concessionaires in the UK from January 1967 (there was nobody earlier) until September 1971:

from Jan 1967: Mitchel & Brittain. 123 New Cross Rd, New Cross, London SE14 until June 67,

from Sept 1967: R.A. Woolsgrove, Alie Street, London E1, who later changed their title to Lamborghini Concessionaires (Sales) Ltd. and also traded under the name of The Italian Car Centre

After which the various concessionaires were all employers of LCUK's new technical consultant who will, if asked, furnish mountains of information covering the years between 1971 and 1999.

This would include such information as the real situation in the '80s and early '90s which caused Portmans to cease trading and led to Porsche GB creating the Lamborghini Great Britain business and how that franchise ceased and became firstly Lamborghini London, who then were joined by Lamborghini Manchester (both being part of HR Owens) to be further increased with a second UK franchise via the Sytner group with Lamborghini Birmingham and Lamborghini Edinburgh. There is now Lamborghini Reading (who are no relation to Lamborghini Great Britain which was mostly based in Reading) and none of the above any relation to the semi-official franchise of Lamborghini High Wycombe Service.

Despite what many will have read over the years and will no doubt continue to hear, neither Amari or any of his family were ever officially (or otherwise) recognised by Automobili Lamborghini as their UK concessionaires at any time.

All of which is just a slightly off-putting side show to the real point of this sort of thread - being pictures like this:

Del is doing well and he told me he's thinking about moving back to the UK to be near family. There is still a belated plan to organise a get together at some point to celebrate Mike Perry's life.

Didn't even know this thread existed,

Nice to hear Del is alive well and kicking ,

Some great stories could have been told between Mike Perry and Del .

Bumped into Mike Pullen on Good Friday at "Wheels Day" driving his 1959 Chevolet Impala coupe 409,

One of his many Yanks in his eclectic car collection.

Another one who could tell bonckers Lamborghini tales .scratchchin

It could almost be the 60s/70s, were it not for the modern VAG lurking in the background....
