I wouldn't buy a car without them! For re-sale I think you might think spending the extra grand worthwhile.
I think when it comes to re-sale it will make little difference - you are going to get your trousers pulled down. Shields or no shields.
I think you're right when the car is newish you're going to drop a small fortune regardless of the badges but once the cars get into the realms of the enthusiast I believe these are the details that are looked for.
The badges are quite a prominenet detail and I think the car looks lacking something without them. My opinion I know but I am entitled to it!.(-:

APOLO 1 you are clearly well informed. If there are unsold 458 spiders in the network are dealers able to offer incentives as they do with the Italia is 30k off ? Do you know the position with 12c spider?
I preferred to buy new but not at. 60k losses in the first year. PM if you prefer
Not really just a few calls to people that don't give out BS.... I know the exact situation with the 12C, but would not be fair to post....

On the other hand, he may have precisely what he wants and he is like an excited boy reliving his dreams, in which case I salute him and congratulate him. It is only money and we cannot take it with us. smile
He has no plans to sell, he loves it and ordered an identical spider at the same time but got bored of waiting so cancelled it

It's a pretty one either way, lots of carbon all over

I liked the blue one with stripe in Evo which was used In the r8/mp4/458 three way. the one with the hush puppy interior. That one had £75k worth of options on it hehe.

That looks stunning - is that Rosso Berlinetta..?? One of my favourite colours - think the UK Press F12 is that shade.

Sat nav on a Ferrari what a con, and the cost of a rear parking camera.....what a rip off. Some people and their money are easily parted. Ironically some of the options listed are no silly money, but many are just mad.

I don't know what the current Ferrari sat nav is but the California had the unit out of a $16k Chrysler. It was horrid.

My experience with Ferrari. ,Porsche and Aston Martin is that you're better off with a Tom Tom. My last 4 Ferrari all had Sat Nav and I never used them once.

All the previous gen cars used single DIN Becker units which were truly ste.

The California and FF use a Chrysler unit which isn't great.

The 458 and F12 use their own ECU and display in the cluster, it's actually quite good, although the input isn't the easiest.

Completely disagree about the satnavs. I have the Ferrari Becker units in my 16m and 599gto, many times they've got me through Italy etc without fuss whilst my wife in an LP560 spyder with full screen colour Audi nav got lost.

The actual nav engine may well be fine, but the inputting and ease of use is dreadful.

Not really had a problem. Mind you, I learned to use computers back in the days of hexadecimal/Apple 2 (call -151 anyone) and ZX81 smile

good material for the PH 'first world problems' thread.

'the satnav on my lamborghini Aventador frequently gets me lost when driving around Europe, my F12 does not do this'

'the satnav on my ferrari F12 is awfully difficult to operate, should have bought an Aventador'

I've tried using the on board satnav in Europe in both Lambo and Ferrari and found them both infuriating, TomTom on the Galaxy was a breeze. That wheel input thing on the Audi units drives me mad!
