The full carbonfibre bodies are due to arrive near/at the end of production (around now). I know of 4 people with them or order but there will be more.
I have no doubt that they would have been delayed for the reasons above. Pagani have made it an art but I imagine it takes ridiculous levels of skill to make it look just right.
I am not knocking Pagani, who have done a fine job of creating a niche for themselves and doing beautiful work, but it has always seemed that they would go for appearance over weight savings. As an example:I have no doubt that they would have been delayed for the reasons above. Pagani have made it an art but I imagine it takes ridiculous levels of skill to make it look just right.
How anyone in this day and age could tack on 36 sizable, totally unnecessary lumps of metal as rotating unsprung mass purely for decoration is beyond me. They look nice, but they are so anti-efficient.
With their CF work, it has always appeared that Pagani use a lot of clear coat, whereas on the P1 McLaren have striven to keep the paint thickness (and I presume clear coat thickness) to a minimum. McLaren specifically chose to finish the P1's interior carbon bits in matte rather than gloss in order to save I think it was 1.5kg.
The fewer the layers of clear coat (or paint), the harder it is to get right.

works of art are supposed to look nice !P1 GTR testing at Spa. The speed differential with the regular cars is incredible.

The shop that did this is Van Nuys California. 5 miles from where I live.
Thank goodness it is only a wrap.
From the article:
Although the McLaren P1's design was somewhat controversial when it was first introduced, few would argue that this hypercar has a striking design and incredible look – no matter what color it arrives in. Add in 903 horsepower and the marquee's finest performance, and the P1 is guaranteed to get you some attention no matter where you take it. But obviously, some owners can never be satisfied. Luckily, the one in question opted to do so with a wrap rather than a permanent paint job.

Such a shame.
A chap I know has a LaF coming and reckons it won't be a long term keeper. Surprised, I asked why to which he replied "because hybrids will be the Betamax of the car world before long". Interesting point of view, I thought.
That's a strange point of view. At the moment I don't think the performance of the present big three has been hindered by their hybrid tech. It's only been highlighted to bring them inline with the current 'must save the planet' eco friendly philosophy. A chap I know has a LaF coming and reckons it won't be a long term keeper. So maybe all petrol based super cars are obsolete because their overall ability doesn't count and electric cars are the future
