Many years ago I had a Subaru P1, brilliant car at the time, was a dream come true. My wife bought a private plate for me, as above and I have had this on every car since, looked good on the GT2.

Now with the McLaren P1, do I put my plate on the 12C or look for something else.

A few mates say don't use it, people will think you are pretending etc.

I do not have a big ego, its HUGE and don't like the idea people will take the P, so to speak smile

Thoughts are welcome

Voted for P1 Ash.

You could maybe look for a plate that relates to "My Annuity Fund" - very current wink

Hmm not sure.

Can you post a pic up and then we can PS the plate on it to see what it looks like?

Remember when the Boxster came out and there were loads of them running around with 911 plates and how tacky that looked?

That is how you will look, unfortunately. Nobody knows, nor will they care that you used to have an Impreza P1, they will just think you wanted a McLaren P1 but couldn't afford it.

Buy another Impreza P1 and put the plate on that instead. Problem solved wink

These visuals might perhaps help the owner decide.

If you'd like to win at life, put a completely normal DVLA issued plate on it. People like will like this.

99.9% of people won't know what a McLaren P1 is and those that do will know that your car isn't one. Most of them won't notice the plate. I wouldn't lose sleep worrying about something so trivial.

I'm wondering if there's a more apt plate out there given the MP4 bit was dropped.

The DVLA have got a load of two number/two letter plates that have never been issued. I bought the two digit year of my birth followed by my two initials last month. They put it into auction for me - I was the only bidder so got it for the reserve.

Thank you, I will stick with it, it looked right to me as soon as they went on, and it feels good to have my number back.
