Nice idea!
I must admit I keep coming back to the McLaren spiders on here hehe
A 650S is going to make the Virage feel like a bus!
The McLaren's are a different type of beast entirely and the Virage isn't exactly slow or lack punch either!
12c is quite quick as well Mikey smile

But in the interests of keeping it a buyers market, I should add that the McLaren's are massively overhyped, not as quick as people make out and have a rubbish ride in any mode. They look awful and sound like a wailing cat as well. Build quality is really shambolic to boot. Don't buy them...at least not till I've got one!
biggrin

I feel the tide is definitely turning with McLaren demand. Just look at the availability and turnover of cars which at this pricepoint is rapid.
Still more demand for Ferrari but just compare the numbers of cars advertised and the days they have been in stock.

Increasing demand and reducing stock can only be good for owners. Grab a bargain while u can

I guess you mean like the 650S VR spyder at McLaren London, which has been for sale for 8 months and has just been reduced further....... May be it is the colour ;-)

I agree that there is little stock but it ain't moving so fast.

I love the colour but hate the MSO additions, it looks like its trying too hard to be a race car hehe
Plus the dealers perceived "value" on these additions is way making it look expensive IMHO.
Another £20k off would make it more interesting wink

Birmingham seem to be selling 12C and 650 really quickly at the moment. They have sent out a 'wanted" list today as they are genuinely low on stock.

I agree it does not look great in the pics and all the costly MSO options that make the list price £282k actually put me off the vehicle personally. I don't like the black thin spoke alloys, alcantara steering wheel, black button surrounds etc....
I do like the more aggressive carbon fibre rear diffuser but there is no way I would of paid the retail price to have it.

That's the only car that has stuck around for any time and I would have the other 2 RHD cars ( Sarigan quartz and pearl white )over it despite preferring Volcano red as a colour and it having a higher spec. The combo just does not work for me although all of that could be addressed/reversed/changed if you can see beyond the current photos.

Just watch how quick the sarigan and white cars are sold

That VR car is not that bad...
It is in one of the best colours and highly specced. Yes, the carbon side vents do not go that well with VR. But the MSO carbon diffuser is nice.
Granted, it was highly priced to start with.

There are indeed very few cars on the used market, but it is generally the case when the summer approaches. And I would think the waiting time to get your own car from the factory would be pretty short. I was there last week and apart from a few 675 prototypes, a couple of 570S, a hand full of 650 Le Mans, the production is pretty low at the moment.

I guess in anticipation of the 570/540 to start.

I tried desperately to buy that beauty at Christmas. It's a customer car who needs to be realistic on price. At the time, there were quite a few spiders available and I got one, pretty much the same spec, less the MSO diffuser, for £185k love it!

The photos just don't do Volcano red justice. I really struggle to get good shots of mine despite many efforts with a decent camera in different light conditions and angles etc....

For me the biggest issue is not the carbon air intakes but the black wheels as I'm not really a fan but those could easily be addressed and changed to diamond cut etc.. or a new design

That's a lovely car....saw VO car in the metal as well - stunning in the sunlight.

Agreed - there aren't really 'bad' colours for these IMO (different thread)

Glasgow have a supernova silver demo that could be had Mikey...

I promised myself not silver when I started looking, but it's a stunning colour and contrasts really well with the rest of the car. The spec is most important in my process. Find the right spec and the colour is secondary IMO.

I have had that saved in 'my garage' on Autotrader for ages, and imo its just always been that bit too overpriced? Several other non MSO specced 650 spiders have sold within 24 hours of being online!
As much as I hate to admit it Rambo is right in terms of the fact that they seem to sell well and quickly but it is odd this VR one is sticking about it. If that 650s had the lights from the p1/570 it would look much better imo!

Great choice, have a massive love for the mclaren brand as its not so ostentatious and in your face as ferrari can occasionally be, and in more sedate colours is fairly discreet, whereas ferraris constantly shout and want to 'go' so you can never really relax in them - they make you want to drive like a child ALL the time biggrin

I love the fact its a british brand that is slowly getting the respect it truly deserves. Competitions is now going to be turned up now ferrari are having to go turbo. the 5xx cars are also aggressively priced against the new r8, amg gt s and 911 turbos so will be interesting to see how many customers decide to change loyalty, although appreciate due to the shape they're not going to be as discreet as say a turbo is!

It being a customer car could explain why it is taking so long to sell. I have seen it so many times when dealers hold cars for private sellers and they are not realistic about price despite what the dealer would tell them. It is getting close to its market value now and with this weather it should not be long before it is gone.

Asking price has dropped at least £20k in the last 3-6 months and I'm sure if it was this price when first put on the market it would of sold straight away. Like you say an owner being unrealistic about what he wants to receive combined with a dealer not making a lot out of selling it and with no stocking pressure has meant it has sat an unprecedented time for a 650S.

Many have come and gone in that time. Looks like the 1,300 mile white car has sold before the MSO sarigan quartz car - probably due to mileage, colour and fact its an ex press/show car I'm guessing.

So with only 2 RHD cars for sale now I'm guessing the VR car will be gone soon as well

It returned to the owner on Thursday as he as unwilling to rice it "realistically" I was interested in it but would have needed to spend too much to get it the way I wanted it. I could get a new one for not much more. Plus the full alacantara in a spider worries me.

what did you want to change?
If the price was 210k or less it will have sold by now imo. was on for way too much in the first place, and he will never get the money he paid for the MSO bits like the diffuser etc back.

It was at £209k
Didn't like the wheels, it had too much CF on it for my liking and I would prefer not to have the full Alcantara. He has a 675LT on order so will need to move it sooner or later wink

Hope he gets a roof scoop and doesnt go too crazy on the mso ordering front then!
Hmm I wasn't keen on the wheels, preferred the lightweight wheels from the 12c then have them painted silver or graphite instead. Personally I like the alcantara but understand your reservations, maybe Im weird but Id want grey or cream leather or two tone leather in it as a spider?

I have it saved in my garage on AT the price obviously didn't updated, but I am surprised considering the spec it didn't go, that said not everyone will like that rear diffuser!

Noticed that Ascot have dropped the price of the Sagarian Silver one by £10k.
That's a unique car and getting interesting in price.

I'm looking at specing a new one in that colour with the diamond cut version of the wheels, a LOT less CF and this interior
