12C- basic questions
Discussion
I have carbon ceramics on my 2013 12c spider and the feel and performance of them is really good. Equally as good the the CC brakes on my previous Ferrari. Personally I don't think you'll go wrong with the car, by far the best car I have been privileged to own so far. I did a track day at Spa in April and the car is amazing on track, great on the road. And I know that you don't even think about fuel consumption on car like these, but again I am amazed at how good it is on fuel. I had to stick to the speed limit in the black forest for about 20 miles, the computer recorded 40.1 miles per gallon!!
That's just crazy for a car that has 620 HP.

Full set of Carbon pads are £1640 + VAT This includes new sensor leads ;-)
Right, that settles that then, engine braking only from now on On a serious note has anyone had to replace other than because of track use ?
Im told they should last forever under normal (light) use.

Next question. Is the warranty extendable? At what cost? Is it worth it (I feel these 2 ur old cars have any issues sorted and read v little of mechanical troubles- is that right?)
Is extendable. Approx £3300 a year more or less in line with the Ferrari 458 one I believe (small surprise that!), small discount if extending for 2 years at one shot. Whether it's worthwhile I'll tell you in a year's time as I'm 9 mths through the first year..... I've put it on more for peace of mind as while the car has had very little trouble some of the parts pricing was let's say... quite considerable and I reckoned I use the car enough to make it worth it. Someone I know hasn't so time will tell who's going to come out better. All things considered I'd rather not have any major trouble on the car than think I want to make the warranty worthwhile though....
Thank you again, what a helpful bunch of owners on here. Beats the Porsche forum which is a school playground.
This info also helps work out relative price /value - mc London are now advertising a nice sapphire black car- looks bluey in the pics- with a good spec and I think price if it does indeed have iris 2 and a year extended warranty.
Gt3 goes off to be sold Monday but I think I'll just buy a Mac now. You know what it's like, itches must be scratched.

Given the reliability that you have experience first hand, and the feedback on the Time Tailors 12C at Spa, I'm quietly confident that I haven't extended the warranty on mine.
I just need to get out and drive it more ... much, much more
P.S. Are you going to the Silverstone Classic ?
Might apply mainly for mclaren orange cars but fingers crossed the friend mentioned above thought much the same as you, the well used cars seem to relatively have less issues. ( or so i hope!!)I just need to get out and drive it more ... much, much more

Silverstone classic - not sure at the moment but might drop by if only to ogle the odd nice car in the carparks.
Squirejo - sapphire black is blue black indeed and is definitely the fastest colour

Looks like a nice car keenly priced, however without opening up a whole can of worms, mileage is everything on these types of cars, it's not a Porsche
What makes you say that ?Porsche have had more engine issues than anyone with regard to reliability, mileage wouldn't put me off as long as it has been serviced at the main dealer and is priced accordingly .

No heated seats. On a spider. Seems odd to me. Is the heater good?!cwin said:
