If it's the sound and the acceleration that matters, get a Ducati Panigale and buy a small flat with the saving.......
Better still buy the ultimate... Buy a Desmo! smile

Got to say this is quite right, that bike has an amazing exhaust sound. I have only seen one once. It came past my house whilst I was washing my car and before I even saw it I heard it miles off. It just was loud at even under 40mph. It went past, my mouth opened and I forgot about washing the car.

It's a bit like Satan just bumbling past. Incredible.

Someone revving it a bit. If the rider had done that my sponge would have shrunk

Actually surprised how much of a non issue it is and don't really think about it anymore. The odd car park presents a pain but otherwise all good. Added bonus is the Euro trips click for obvious reasons...

Beans - Definately! biggrin
Overtaking - 90% of the time no problem, otherwise take your time and wait for the right moment
Would have to agree with the LHD non-issue, certainly don't find it any problem with a RHD car in Europe

The fact that the McLaren has got butterfly doors(silly) is a bonus but it doesn't stop me from feeling embarrassed when people are looking...
Actually I do like the crazy doors... Supercars should have an element of crazy about them, it's part of what makes them Super - just look at the SV in this thread, Lambos epitomise crazy! That and a good sound! biggrin

If anything looks silly it's the speed your Scud is going for the amount of noise it is generating?
Okedoke...

Look... I haven't got a bad word to say about any of the Maclaren cars. They are mega quick, look amazing and to think what they as a business have achieved in such a short period is stunning. All I am saying is (IMO) that turbo charged cars don't sound quite as good as NA (Ferrari included). Up to you if you want to carry on your 'my cars better than yaws' rant mate...

Ok... I lied... lol There are ecceptions to the rule wink

https://youtu.be/0YPabCzxMXM - Ferrari can even make blowers sound good!

Every single penny sir!

Buy one and get it on the track, to dial in and carve out some half decent laps at the right circuit is to live! Bought mine new in 2008 and it's a keeper...
I use my 899 as my daily commuter rather than on a track. Best bike I've ever had for commuting. And it really does make a great sound.

I too don't have a bad word to say about a Ferrari apart from in my opinion, they create too much noise at low speeds, easy to fix but it's what the owners want so no need to alter. All super cars are brilliant in their own right.

Sound is all part of the experience to me and I love the capristo on my F355. The Scuderia and Performante also both sound awesome.
The McLaren being turbo charged is different but in no way do I feel cheated or let down by the sound.
TBH my old 911 turbo with designtec titanium exhaust with 200 cell cats sounded good for a turbo car but like a wet fart and nothing like the 650S

Time Ferrari owners woke up and realised that long gone are the days when Ferrari reigned supreme and there are other marques ready to take the throne
The king is dead Ferrari

Have to say my 650S Spider feels faster than my old MV Agusta F4 1000, and sure was a million miles more comfortable 2-up to Silverstone. Judging by comments there and at Goodwood Breakfast Club it seems to leave most people proud to be British!! My Astons still wonder why they put the door hinges in the wrong place tho .....

A 650s is faster than a MV Agusta F4. All I can say is judging by all the crap that you keep coming out with, I'm glad I'm not Rossi because I would be stting myself at thought of coming across you.
You can certainly talk the talk!

LOL Man this is like taking candy from a baby!

OK - BanditBoy, let me give you some advice otherwise you'll do yourself a mischief if you carry on like this. 1 Month and 21 posts in and you're already my favourite new Mr Angry biggrin

This is PistonHeads and you need to come play with more than a pinch of salt and (most importantly) a sense of humour (see the wink in my message for an example).

Enjoy! smokinhehe

Both F4 and 650S are mid 10's over a standing qtr, although launching the bike requires way more skill and involvement than pressing LC in the macca and planting the throttle

I had a certain amount of respect for you as a pertolhead up to the point where you started talking even more st. I would think you can only dream of been able to ride a bike at 1% of Rossi's abilities and to say he can't ride a Ducati?, that says it all. I'm going to take an educated guess and suggest that you was a Stoner fan?, why do I say Stoner you may ask, well, I will leave that to you to work out for yourself with your very narrow mind.
What a plonker saying Rossi couldn't ride a Ducati, let me just rewind and think how many times Dovi (his team mate ) beat him, huuum, that's a difficult one. And before you start saying Stoner did this and that, history has proved that the bike got worse, the reason for new management me thinks.
I don't mind discussing anything with like minded people but you have shown what a plonker you are (in my opinion) today with your comments.

I would kick Rossi's but! Quote of the century I think?

Exactly... and by the time you've got the front back down the Macca is gone. Tough to make that ground back up... Some modern bikes also have launch control but it's still pretty crude and no where near as effective as a cars.

Maybe its all the big words that seems to be confusing you. Let's try something more visual...
