All,

As per last year, I've organised a display area for McLaren Cars under the "McLaren Drivers Club" banner for the Silverstone Classic on Friday 29th to Sunday 31st July 2016.

A good start to the club/brand at the Classic last year & hopefully we can get a great showing this year. We had a slot close to the pits and opposite the lamborghini stand last year & certainly drew attention...

They're also doing a current "Early Bird" discount until the 31st March when you get 2-for-1 tickets - so book early biggrin

The club code is SCC16072 - be sure to use this as you'll get your parking pass with this.

Cheers.

Hi, would be up for this normally but sadly its right in the middle of summer holidays.

Sorry missed this post the first time around.

The McLaren Drivers Club was set-up so we could get a pitch at the Silverstone Classic last year - hence going for the same spot this year.

I'll look at organising a few events if people are up for it - was thinking:

FIA WEC at Silverstone on 15-17 April
BLANCPAIN GT Sprint Series 7-8 May (or could do the next round at Silverstone the following week)

Welcome any other ideas - please let me know interest biggrin

Hi,

I would be up for some of these events.

The 31st July though is summer hols, so can do that. But the other dates look ok at the moment.

For the Silverstone Classic it's just a case of buying the tickets in the link above and quoting the club code (and, I guess, having a McLaren biggrin).

For the other events, as there is interest, I'll speak to the organisers to get a display area and then run the thread from this forum, with an attendance list - keeps it simple.

So is it an actual Club or just a group of people calling themselves a club ?

I ask because I was contacted last night by someone who was keen to set up an owners club, to my knowledge there is no such club currently set up in the UK ?

We needed a name to get ourselves a "club" spot for the Silverstone Classic - hence the "club" was born.

Happy to organise a few events as it's always good to meet up with a few owners + we've got a fair few new owners recently, but certainly not in the business of running an owners club (I don't even have a beard for starters biggrin)!

I'm actually surprised that there wasn't already an owners club of some sort.

With the new McLarenCrew taking shape, maybe we should think about some regional drive/get togethers for this year and maybe a national meet somewhere central? (i.e. north of Watford Gap!)

Would be cool to get a large gathering of Maccas together, show those Fiat owners a thing or two! eek

(I am shaving off my beard as I speak...)

I would be interested in getting a number of maccas together for a drive, could a sub group be formed on the pistonhead site?

A few of us going now. Don't forget that the early-bird tickets (2-for-1 offer) runs out at the end of this month.

Are you guys going all 3 days ? Or are you planning to be there on one of the days.
I will join, but unlikely to do all 3 days.

I'll be going along on Saturday + Sunday (went for all three days last year, but think the weekend is enough)

Speaking to the organisers of the Silverstone Classic yesterday and they might have a few spare infield passes for the McLaren team (deadline passed on 31st May for the infield display).

So if you still want to come and display your McLaren, please let me know and I'll arrange for additional passes.

Did you manage to get any additional passes sorted out.

Andy - sorry. Missed this the first time. Do you have tickets to the event? Let me speak to the organisers and see if I can get you an infield pass - will be back to you in the next few days.
