I have just returned from an 1,850 mile trip to the Swiss Alps and back with my wife in our 12C. It's the longest trip we have completed to date in the car and it was faultless. There was plenty of luggage space up front and on the rear shelf, we cruised through France, enjoyed many alpine passes and drove back through Germany at up to 150mph (it was busy).

What amazed me most was the total comfort, even better than my 911, no back ache, no pains and no tiredness even after 8 hour+ drives. in 10 days we drove 1,850 miles at an average of 53mph and 27.1mpg.

I cant think of any super-car that would be as comfortable, fast, reliable, spacious and economical as the 12C (apart from a 650s probably). I get more impressed with the 12C every day.

Just back from my own Alps trip, checked out my mpg - what are the chances?!

I thought I should share this picture I had to stick to the speed limit on the N500 in the Black Forest as there where police speed traps about. So to get this right the 12C has 616 BHP and will do 0-60 in 3.1 seconds and it can do 40mpg !! That's witch craft.

Why is the average speed in KM/H ? when the others are in miles. Surely it should be in mph of 38.75

You can set the speed individually to consumption so when abroad you can have Kph for speed and mpg for readout. Each readout can be altered individually, thought you would know that Rambo?? ;-)

I've just come back from a long Euro trip in the 650S so I thought I'd see what the consumption is, mine just says "Range". How do you change the display?

From memory, push the lower left hand stalk away, then up to get the laptop icon, then towards you to select the trip meter. You reset the trip meter by pressing & holding the button in the end. Push it down to get the journey trip meter which resets itself every time you start the car.

Or summink like that anyway smile I'm sure you'll figure it out!

TBH I haven't looked at the owners manual since I bought the car. I did set up the original config I wanted and that's it.

The car has hardly been out of Devon but its nice to know you can change it to Km/h etc.. when I pluck up the courage to take her to the Italian lakes next year

Cheers Andy, I'll go and fiddle with it when I get home.

I'm the same RL, never read the bloody manual!

I've done 3 trips around Europe in this car already and changing to Km/h would have been very handy. Every day is a school day.

It's very easy, from the stalk go to (settings) then into (display setup) then (units) then you can change mph-kph and also distance, temperature, pressure, consumption and volumes, all individually. It's great because tyre pressure is default in bar but you can change to psi etc. You can fiddle with it when you are in the channel tunnel. Also If you do go into meridian settings in the audio and choose expanded mode, sounds amazing :-) Also the overboost set to 800bhp is mind bending ;-)

Hmm. This isn't working for me. I'm in the car now.
Got the expanded Meridian, already set that when I first picked it up.
What do I do specifically to show fuel consumption? I can set it to MPG but that doesn't show on the display.
Haven't got an option for consumption in "Bottom Right" on Home Screen. Every option there doesn't give me consumption figures. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

I'm 5 lagers in mind you.

Can I join in. Great to see others running around Europe in their McLarens.

Our trip to Epernay last week and this sad t*wat (me) with a fairy foot managed this on the way back....and that was with a boot full of champagne a few bottles stuck down in the footwell, cramping the missus style whilst adding weight to the car.

And there are 2 trips, if you push the stalk down you will see a second trip. The second one restarts with every journey, the first one when you set it (by pressing the button on the end of the stalk for a few seconds). You can reset the second one mid journey by pressing the button on the end of the stalk as well. However for some reason the mpg figures take a few miles to settle down if you do this. Have fun....!

..... how is this even possible?

the 12C must have easily the lowest fuel consumption of any supercar ever made
