Hello all

This is my first post on the McLaren page, having been a keen reader for six months and dreaming!

I placed my order yesterday at Ascot McLaren for a 570GT for March 17 delivery.

I've ordered it in Silica White with black and Almond white sport interior. Stealth wheels with red callipers, sport exhaust and stealth exhaust finish. Also GT Upgrade pack and Carbon Fibre interior pack.

I'm thrilled skinny and can't wait to get it!

I dealt with Chris Hewitt who was very helpful and they gave me a fair price for my Boxster.

Congrats,
I ordered one of the first ones, last March at Geneva. It's a bit behind schedule but should be (better be...!) built this month.
Blade Silver, with same interior as you.

Out of interest what made you go for the GT rather than the S?

Hi Anubis

I preferred the styling to the S. The S looks a little untidy at the back IMO. Also i liked the additional load space and the glass roof

Congrats - awesome car and more complete looking than the coupe if you ask me!

The spec sounds top drawer too - my only suggestion would be to consider the MSO sports exhaust over the standard sports exhaust. It's new and only just gone on sale - it was on one of the 570s at Goodwood and it sounds incredible (and it isn't that much more than the sports exhaust).

Sacrilege I know, but I have gone for the standard exhaust as the GT is for GT'ing and i want less noise and more refinement.

It would be a boring world if we were all the same, I think I have read that the standard GT exhaust is a tad quieter than the standard exhaust on the S.

Each to their own of course, splendid car regardless..

The GT has a quieter exhaust tune than the S as standard but also has more soundproofing so you can be a bit more unruly on the outside without too much more noise on the inside! wink

I went to McLaren demonstration day at Foxhills golf club at Ottershaw Surrey on Friday. I had the chance to drive a GT for an hour in the company of a McL driver.
It made realise i can't wait till March, so asked the question of Ascot re earlier delivery.
Found out on Saturday it should be delivered just before Xmas!!
Note to my wife-there's my Xmas pressie sorted!

'Earlier Delivery' Is this a new 'fast track, avoid the queues' premium option? Nothing would surprise me!

I just happened to ask on Friday, any chance the car could come sooner? The salesman said they might have a December slot.

I think it was because i ordered the car at beginning of this month and knew exactly what spec i wanted. Nothing more sinister! And no money changed handsrolleyes

Probably a slot for a cancelled order as they have been running late with early cars. Seems to be resolved but they may have lost one or two 'summer' customers along the way.

I'm hoping to get mine by this time next week...
