this is helpful - how wide is your garage interior - I'm thinking about the extra width needed to get the drivers door open!

+1

When i placed my order for the GT in September, my primary concern was to ensure it would fit in my garage which is 2200mm wide at its narrowest part-the entrance. Didn't trust the information from Ascot either, so went old school and took a tape measure with me to the test drive. With the mirrors open, i measured 2100mm(give or take a mil) and 2004mm closed. I even checked the highest point of the door when opened from the ground, as i have overhanging metalwork for the electric door to consider at 2.1m. It was 2m exactly. I haven't got the car yet(sore subject) but i'm now confident it will fit in.
+2

My GT fits fine in a standard width garage opening (2.2m) with the mirrors folded.

Some brave people on here - my McLaren looked like it would just fit in but soooo close like a 3-5cm each side. I paid a builder to put an 8ft door in, instead of the standard 7ft door
Much better value than scraping the side of your Claren!

Gents, my garage is 3m wide.
Mclaren declares a 570s width with single door open of 2.660m, do you think I could get out of the car w/o scratching the mirror on the opposite site lol ?

Yes, should be fine. Remember this is probably with the door open and up all the way. You can get in/out in quite tight spaces without doing this, I've not been trapped yet in 12,500 miles.

Thanks, never tried these doors, can it stop and be kept in position, before being fully deployed?

Yes, you can pretty much make the door stop where you want, they are very well balanced (or whatever magic they use).

Well sat in one today, tried but no, you need to hold it with one hand while you get out to avoid full opening.

Make part of your test drive a trip home. Or let me park in your garage for a test. I think 3M is fine. I’m just South of Leicester, PM me.

They don't fly up and bash things, they raise gently until you stop them. See these pics. Plenty of room (I left a bit on the left beyond the mirror). First photo the door is 50% raised and sits there on its own. I still suggest putting some carpet or a buffer where the door would touch the wall just in case.

Thanks Targarama, so kind of you.

I'll try next time to stop the door and see as it should hold on position and you've showed on pict.

Yes it should be 2.660m with one door full open...but I suspect with left mirror deployed...need to measure with left mirror closed (is it what you've done?).

Mirrors are out. There really is nothing to worry about. To be honest I watch more above to see what the door may hit than 'outwards'.
