Has anyone ordered both of these cars?

Would you take them both or conclude it's one or the other?

I had a moment of indulgence and ordered the Huracan Performante and 720S. Delivery dates are confirmed same for both cars early 2018. But now i'm asking myself will i end up with numerous cars all so similar that I make a terrible mistake? Ive a GT3RS, Turbo cab and Performante already. I'm thinking sell the RS or old Performante. Then i have at least one very fast one, one loud shouty screamy one and one comfy, quick but blend into the background one. It's a heck of a lot of money in the garage, a good time to sell if im selling and i want to make the right decision. Any ideas guys please?

Personally - I'd say one Performante is probably enough and I'd get the 720 in a dark colour to replace the Turbo. As you currently have the RS and Perf together, you probably have a good idea if the RS could go as well ..... so that would leave 3 cars in total

Tough choices to make .... or keep all and hope the market does not collapse so they don't cost too much in depreciation. I have a feeling that after a while you'd probably get rid of some anyway though, as one or two sets of keys would never be picked up .... just tough to know which ones those are

I assumed 991 RS - if older version, then that clearly has to stay as manual car

Keep them both but ditch the old Turbo cab and Performante.

Huracan Performante is a big step up from the Gallardo IMHO and compliments the vastly different but equally capable McLaren 720S.

I know the predicament you're in as I have my next 3 cars on order and getting the timing and balance right isn't easy

Have ordered both amongst others - but can only afford one at a time. Lols. GT3RS at the minute, replaced by 720s, replaced by Aventador S, replaced by Performante, replaced by 812.
Cars I'm most excited for? Probably 720s and 812.
In retrospect probably a useless reply, apologies.

Jeez- You're going to have some serious problems if you fall for a car and want to keep it- Can see that happening with the 720 or Performante!

if you lose say 50k on each of the new cars, that is an expensive 3ish (?) years of driving - the advantage of course is that a new car every 6-9 months certainly should be quite exciting.

Saw a 720s earlier this week in Shenzhen. Most people on the street didn't give it a second glance.

Take the 720s - everyone needs at least one car with "billionaire doors' biggrin
It willl also fulfill the role of comfy and outrageously fast.

One performante in, one out.
Not sure what roll the GT3RS will play (next to a performante and 720s) unless its old school manual.

Turbo cab could stay for open top motoring days.

You need to diversify a bit. Too many of the cars cover the same basis and are roughly from the same year. Get an older car and keep the 720 - awesome car.

You could convert to a two-car garage; turbo cab and new performante. Gives you blisteringly fast turbo, open air, screaming n/a, Italian style and drama, hardcore car, rear engined, mid engined, GT car. Leaves room for an 812 which offers something different again and 'completes' your garage offering V12, massive power, front engined to the list above.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you order your car?

I placed my £30k deposit in February and still have no build slot nor any idea when the car might be available. The dealership cannot give any indication at all.

It is my secon McLaren purchase and there seems a huge difference in dealer care since I bought one of the first MP4's back in 2011.

I spent a long time on the McLaren stand at Goodwood today and according to them the launch addititions of the 720s should start landing on customers driveways at the end of this month. New orders will be at least a year away at the moment.

As for the Performante two were parked next to each other in the performance car park at Goodwood today but I have no idea if they were customers cars or not

I put a £10k deposit down in Feb with Manchester Mclaren - was pretty much guaranteed Oct/Nov slot, which I've chosen to push out to `March '18. They've given my Q4 2017 slot to someone that put a deposit down in April.

I had to put down an initial £10K when I signed the order form. Just a few days later I had to spec the car (I was somewhat pressured to do so, I feel) and then pay a further £20K. Apparently this is non-refundable.

I have chased monthly but still no hint of a date. I am becoming disillusioned with the marque. Another McLaren dealer I went to (same franchise) offered me a p/x of £30k less than I sold my car for through another dealer. They seem truly disinterested, as if I am some form of speculator, yet they know I had the MP4 for 3 years.

I am considering cancelling the order and may do so if legal advice suggests they cannot retain the deposit.
