People?

The question is how many people are there in the U.K. who want to, and can buy, and run, a £100k sports car?

And, as someone said earlier, endless new cars in this segment are being spewed out by Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and Aston Martin.
Supply is limitless.
Demand isn’t.
And I don't even have GCSE economics.

MASSIVE step up. More than next generation IMHO as 12c was ahead of its time at launch.

People will wake up to it soon but internet scaremongering does not help the brand and McLaren need to support the used car and aftersales market themselves as well.
Nought wrong with the product just the brand and network strength.
Demand continues to grow strongly for new product.
Can't believe how many 570S you see on the roads these days

Yes, it does make you wonder how quickly these manufacturers can switch off their sausage machines if they have to.

I would expect the 12c to continue its downward path but they’re already nudging M3 money, how much lower do they need to go?

Now less than £80k. That is mighty cheap. Too bad the folk that buy sub £80k cars aren’t keen on spending >£5k/year just to keep it roadworthy. Gotta day though, given a choice between this and a Cayman GT4, and ignoring running costs (which I know is daft, but go with me on this one for now...), the 12C does look like a total bargain.

To be fair, the price of the 12c has not moved over the last 24 months, in fact some cars have risen up in value by a small amount. The 12c is now between 3 and 6 years old and if the price has already levelled off, it's very unlikely to ever loose half its value.

We've all been watching the same market for decades, we've all be watching the same trends, so why do you think the relatively solid residuals on the 12c are just a short-term blip?

I'm not sure what you are looking at but i was seriously looking to buy a 12c18 months ago.A very good spec car was £125k then and I looked at lots, they are well below that now,my guess is I would have lost circa 30k over the 18 months plus running costs yikes

Where were you looking!? 12c's have been under 100k for 2 years!

12C's have hardly moved over the last 2 years and its only more recently due to Brexit and the whole supercar market slow down have they fallen again.
Its all relative if you have a px as everything else has fallen and TBH I would say the 12C has actually fallen less than the average mean of supercars and is a fairly safe home for your money when the general market condition returns.

360's were down to £30k at one stage and now they can be £80k ?????? The 12C will bounce and is infinitely better than a 360/F430 with or without a warranty

I’m agreeing with RL. Is there a separate thread to discuss this? wink

I've seen that trotted out before, and it's simply not true. They were never ~£30k, more like £40k - and even if they were, the 360s that would have been £30k are not the ones commanding £80k now. Stop making stuff up.

And 12Cs most definitely have not been static for the last 2 years.

Good for you. I bought one at £39.5k 5 years ago.

My point was, you cannot compare the very cheapest car 5 years ago to the top end now - they are not the same cars.
