may be a pre registered Launch car. £40k at these prices is only 20%.
ONLY ?! That's more than the dealer margin and believe me they are not selling them for a loss. Just more rumours and scaremongering. Ferrari dealer is hardly a great source of info is it when they lost the sale.TP321 said:

The stock Aventador is faster round the Ring than the F12, Huracan, and 12C.
The Aventador SV, of course, is faster round the Ring than all McLaren road cars ever made in history.
The Aventador is a fast car, but it needs a skilled driver. And some everyday folk may struggle to drive it properly.
The new S version is much improved with rear wheel steer and adjustable suspension. Gearbox remains. Still nothing touches it for road presence. The Aventador SV, of course, is faster round the Ring than all McLaren road cars ever made in history.

It’s about the event not the traffic light Grand Prix.

Being an S owner I can vouch that the gearbox is much improved but still not twin clutch good. Never unstandard the comments about width and vision with the Aventador, sure it’s not great with regard vision but if you want visibility get a people carrier and with regard width I live down a country lane and don’t have any issues.

How are you finding it? Is there a big difference in the way it drives over the original model? It’s about the event not the traffic light Grand Prix.

Overall as an ownership experience I’m very impressed and it’s a car that does stop people in their tracks if that’s your thing!

You're obviously unaware of Yips posting history!
meh, everyone think's he's trolling but he just has his own opinions things imoand imo on this he's right. I think the 12C/Hurracan would be much easier for a typical owner to get closer to the official ring time than the Aventador

fk me they're quick, I mean the quickest thing I have ever drove.
Even spinning through first second and third in this crappy weather we have the way it picks up speed is surreal....
Back to the OP's question, you most deffinately should.
Deposit down for me and hopefully collect next week.

I never get tired of watching Drag times 720s destroy everything it goes up against. Even from videos the speed looks surreal so i can only imagine what it must feel like inside the car.Even spinning through first second and third in this crappy weather we have the way it picks up speed is surreal....

To be honest, imo as the driver you feel a bit detached from the frankly staggering rate the car can gain speed. Your only real reference is the speedo hitting 3 figures absurdly quickly and the scenery going by rather faster than you are used to. The sensation of speed one gets as a driver isn't quite what it should be for me, can't say if it's due to the lack of noise or just the general feel of the car but as I think I've said before the 720 feels a bit too much of a hyperspeed GT car imo. It's a very good point. I'm only coming at this from the view of someone who has done quite a few hundred miles in a 720S across mixed driving.
The speed and overall ability of the 720S is staggering, it can play the cruiser, the bruiser and the track toy all in one package.
But....
The following week I did similar miles/driving in a 991.2 GT3, a car which lists at around half the price. Now it's obviously slower than the 720S - with 500hp in a light body it's certainly far from slow, but when i floored it from 0-120mph in the GT3 I felt alive, the experience was visceral, revving out to 9000rpm, the howl of the engine, the PDK-S shifts which make even the McLaren feel sluggish by comparison, everything.
It just showed me how much I prefer a more raw, organic driving sensation I suppose. And it made me wonder just how insane the new LT is going to be. I've driven the 650S and 675LT hard over many miles, and if the difference is the same on the new car it's going to be unbeatable.
But still, at the price point the new GT3 is possibly the best value car on sale today. Staggeringly good.

Does anyone have one in the midlands? I'd love to have a look around one in real life. Really fascinating thing and as an automotive designer I'm intrigued by some of the details.
Theres one in the showroom in Hockley Heath, the guys there were ok with me pawing over it and having a sit in.hajaba123 said:

I’ve flip flopped in getting a 720s
Fear of discounts, deprecation, not foolishly taking the earlier good offers on my 650s (and more lately being made redundant) has stopped me committing.
However nothing I’ve read, heard or seen makes me want it less.
It’s miles a head of the competition (well perhaps a Performante comes close). I imagine a few used ones have sold for a bit less than list, but we are not seeing the big discounts on new ones that occurred on 12c and 650s, additionally the reviews are glowing.
In my mind the biggest issue is the £100k step up from my £650s (for car that’s no longer a spider and 2 years newer)
