Not sure why TonyF is getting slated seems a genuine petrolhead like the rest of us but if his dealer has offered £210k grab it and buy this at £240k - looks stunning

... colours are so uncommon these days you would think they would command a premium come resale, and thereby entice people to spec some interesting choices.
Mines not grey or white or black, you can tell me at the Biknacre meet if I've made a horrible mistake Boxer!I do love that Fistral blue, I backed out of it at the last moment because I couldn't see one in the flesh anywhere and wasn't sure how it would look in real life.

I haven't even been down to see it yet, I might walk in on March the 1st and think "Christ that's awful!"

You're rather odd aren't you. Grown man using loser emojis. Each to their own I suppose.
Best to ignore you from now on I think. You are welcome to the last word. You seem exactly the sort of person who craves it.
I will not respond.

Car has been at the dealers for a month or so but my original build date was closer to March. I'm going to leave it till then to push it into the next reg and to give me a bit more time to sell the 650S which is with Alastair Bols.

Ive always wondered how this works in terms of the warranty period if you'd care to shed any light br d?I haven't even been down to see it yet, I might walk in on March the 1st and think "Christ that's awful!"
Does it start from when the car is first registered or when the car should have been registered as in completed PDI at the dealers?

That's a good question TC and something I hadn't really considered. Hopefully it's on registration, the car is only sitting in storage covering no miles whatsoever so I can't see the warranty coming into play. Does it start from when the car is first registered or when the car should have been registered as in completed PDI at the dealers?
I will have to call them and check.

Low mileage 2017 720s are sitting with an asking price of around the £260k - £277k, 2016 488 GTB's start with an asking price of circa £200k.
I understand the point about not necessarily relying upon a test drive as normal test drive often isn't long enough to really get to know a car, but you must have had some thought of what your 488 GTB is worth as a trade-in against the car you were looking at?
That's just the point, my dealer told me 210-212k with the spec of my 488. That's how I can judge the cost to change but dealer selling this 720 wanted to pay me trade money at 190k.I understand the point about not necessarily relying upon a test drive as normal test drive often isn't long enough to really get to know a car, but you must have had some thought of what your 488 GTB is worth as a trade-in against the car you were looking at?
That's why we couldn't agree on a cost to change ! Must add, this is the second 720 I'm talking about.

Checked this today, warranty starts when car is delivered to customer. Does it start from when the car is first registered or when the car should have been registered as in completed PDI at the dealers?

I beg to differ. Warranty starts when dealer pays McLaren for car. I bought in December with car registered on 8th January but the warranty expires 28th December. Not a big issue for me as I wanted the later year registration but I'm sure dealer wanted effective sale for end of year targets/bonuses etc..RamboLambo said:
