Yes the prices are right and yes it's an original Daytona Spyder. The mag is also littered with dealer ads like a mint DB4 for £34,950 Ono; RS500 £12,950 ono; Dinos at £30k

Just as interesting is the stuff that hasn't moved so much - silver spirits etc
I remember seeing a genuine RHD Ferrari Daytona Spyder for sale at Bramleys in the late 1980's I think, it was £2M then! (guess that was just before the classic car crash)

As it happens I was there a year ago and I mentioned to the salesman that I'd seen that car nearly 30 years ago and he confirm that it had been advertised for that figure but didn't sell, and the owner still had it.

So find it hard to believe that a genuine RHD (only 7 made?) would be that 'cheap' in 2000? More likely to be either a FHC conversion or a LHD (or both)?

Yes, rarity has a part to play but take a look at the below from the same 'family' (desirability counts for a lot of course! biggrin ) and that was roughly the same price this year. Allowing for fluctuation in market (as evidenced in the other cars' values in the same publication) and the passage of time, I wouldn't be surprised if that was as stated, an original 365GTS Daytona, albeit LHD not RHD (looks LHD in the pic to me)

I saw the car back then. The owner of the car owned Bramleys at the time.

Nice if you simply want a pristine museum piece. It's over double the price for a really nice used 328, and will haemorrhage all it's added value as soon as you dare to drive it. When automotive art becomes just art!

Exactly - it's like a bottle of wine as an investment.

And equally as pointless.

I'd be astonished if that becomes public knowledge.

If it's the longtail LARK one, he's already sold it and sent it back to Lanzante's to get re-liveried.

If it's the longtail black one with the squiggles, that's already been sold

If its the orange one that was sold a few years back to a certain Mr Newey

He's not posted anything about this on social media or put the F1 on his website as far as I can seen.

He's a busy, successful fella - he's just sold a mint 250 Cali Spyder. Suspect that will have been £10-12 million.

I am under the impression Lanzante had done the work after receiving the car back from THJnr after the sale of it earlier this year / back end of last year (?)
