I had a quote for this, this morning;

"Good Morning Mr Thomas,

Thank you for your interest, these exhausts are available to pre-order and the cost is £5805.00 fully fitted.

Best Regards

Aftersales Manager "

ouch....

Larini do a system for the 570s, £1,466 for the 'race' exhaust excluding sports cats (extra £2,300), and excluding fitting. Quicksilver do one for £1,980.

Is the MSO one really going to sound that much better?

There is a guy on the FB group who has had both and says the MSO is no better than the Larini he swapped it for........

I don't care if the MSO exhaust is made of unobtanium, I just find it hard to understand how a sales guy can tell you that price with a straight face.

I have a Larini system on my 570GT (cat back only, std cats kept), it sounds awesome under load. 10% discount on purchase price too, think it was end-of-month or something. Backdraft Motorsport in Milton Keynes sorted me out with fitting. Job jobbed.

I know there shouldn't be, but is there any impact on the McLaren warranty when fitting an after-market exhaust either cat-back or full system?

Only on the part replaced, so for example my engine, door seal or wheel bearing are not affected. Replacing or removing the cats is a whole other conversation though, as that affects the engine/tuning etc.

I have a Larini Clubsport on one of my cars (not a McLaren).

It's so much lighter than the stock exhaust and sounds out of this world.

Worth every penny.

The email I received isn't very clear. Will this be available for the 720S?

(thanks to the mod who straightened out my subject title)

Its a 4,500 option which is only about 700 more than the sports exhaust - no brainer really

Yes as said before even with the standard sports exhaust option they still charge you over £400 for the stealth finish exhaust tips. So going forward no dealer will order the standard sports exhaust because of this. MSO now becomes the default option if you want a louder factory fitted exhaust.

The other potential benefit is all that Gold heat shielding that will now be on display from behind the rear valance and seen through the engine cover vents.

As ever each to his own and all that smile

I just ordered the MSO exhaust with my 570S, which will be delivered in March. Lets wait and see. The Larini (or other ) systems might be cheaper, but where I live in Germany they started continuing police controlls to check car loudness and if the exhaust system is official. So to me this doesn't make sense just because it is cheaper. BTW none of the others like Akrapovic, Larini, Novitec have an official licence for Germany.
