12C For £86k with 25k miles...not in the market but.... looks value.

Probably around the correct price - when you compare it to other early 12cs for sale (and the gap to later cars/ spiders etc)
However an absolute bargain compared to a 458 - I'd imagine a 2011, 25k mike 458 would be close to £50k more ?
Not a big fan of the std aluminium interior - carbon upgrade makes is soon much more special.

Cars priced like this will certainly build McLarens customer base at the expense of others.
What other supercar could you get at this price?

A leggy 2008 F430 F1 with 480 bhp and a single clutch gearbox ? No your right you said supercar the 12C is an absolute steal at £100k.Cars priced like this will certainly build McLarens customer base at the expense of others.

Proof of the pudding will be in the eating but I bet it wont be for sale for long unlike a lot of the overpriced competitors that have sat with wheels unturned for years literally

For me, it kind of does the opposite.Cars priced like this will certainly build McLarens customer base at the expense of others.
I browsed 12C prices a year or so back, and realistically you were looking at a fair bit more for one. Whether you think they are better than a 458 or not, people have been predicting 458 prices falling for several years now and they just don't. The fact that 12Cs do keep going down in value would stop me considering one. I'm sure they're lovely, but I wouldn't want to add falling prices to the running costs.

it's worth a punt at £85k and is good value for money, can't see them dropping below £60k - although it is possible, I remember when 360's were £30kI browsed 12C prices a year or so back, and realistically you were looking at a fair bit more for one. the only other compatible performance for money would be a GTR but that's a different kind of experience.

Many people wont buy an 85/90k second hand supercar when the warranty costs 3.5kpa.
They also cant take the risk of owning one without a warranty as McLaren dealers just replace 'bits' when they fail & very rarely try & repair it! Needless to say these costs could prove eye-watering!

That is great value for such a high performance car..
Would the warranty still be 3.5k with so many miles??
With a little bit of negotiation you could have Mclaren with 3 year full warranty for £95k?!
Yes it would be 3.5kpa but only after a full inspection & any 'issues' all done & paid for!Would the warranty still be 3.5k with so many miles??
With a little bit of negotiation you could have Mclaren with 3 year full warranty for £95k?!

Exactly, factor it into the overall deal if you are concerned about the repair costs and it still works out as a steal. Would the warranty still be 3.5k with so many miles??

How much would you pay for an equivalent warranty on a 10 year old F430 at similar vehicle purchase price.
Lots of scaremongering stories on McLaren repair costs but the FACTS of the matter ( proven by the warranty repair statistics ) are its no where near as bad as made out by those with a vested interest to dish the brand.
I can assure you I'd rather have a 5 year old McLaren without warranty than a 10 year old Ferrari without warranty

If my 10yr old 430 needed a repair there are numerous independent garages literally fighting for my business.
If my 12c breaks, I have to go to a dealer & 'take it' so to speak
I agree that McLarens dont have loads of horror stories but that's not the issue, the issue is the high warranty cost & the fact that McLaren pretty much wont let anyone else touch them!

I agree with ferdi p, I’d want a warranty and that presumably reflected in this cars asking price.
As an aside, I think the asking price of a 430 was a little more than half a 12c when new so the warranty price doesn’t seem so bad when seen as a proportion of the cost of the cars. I don’t know how much a warranty on a 458 will cost.
I have had a 12c for 18 months and 15k miles. The car has never let me down.
McLaren have been great and I have spent more money on a previous F430 fixing rattles, exhaust, manifold and F1 niggles than I have spent on the warranty on my McLaren.
I nearly moved back to a Huracan but it just feels a bit lacking in finesse in comparison. Lovely looking but it can't compete with the performance and turn in of the McLaren.
The car above looks a bargain but I wouldn't own any of these cars without a warranty.

!
Yes, warranty renewal is not mileage dependent (or no one is getting close to the level where it is which is 6 figures or something I think)!

About the same as the Mclaren, iirc the 458 was a touch more but not significant. As an aside, I'm not sure having an independent is going to change much. There are indepedents already, however parts pricing continues to be a problem given the relatively low volume and your main saving becomes on labour rate and are you willing to chuck the warranty for that saving? Perhaps the independents can sort out the gearbox much more easily as it's usually just a seal leak. However what if you have a driveshaft seal leak or something that requires an engine out job or worse the engine blows a piston? the asymmetry of outcomes with regards to potential costs for me at least means running a car like the 12c (or any other highly electronically complex car of that type) isn't a sensible choice.

Huracan Performante has plenty of finesse amongst other things. Best supercar in the world according to ClarksonMcLaren have been great and I have spent more money on a previous F430 fixing rattles, exhaust, manifold and F1 niggles than I have spent on the warranty on my McLaren.

Very low spec, can't see one option ticked except the wheels.
I certainly would not sell mine under 100K, so looks like I won't be selling
Basic car priced accordingly but at the end of the day its still a McLaren with mental performance for very little money. It will be sold in no time as the cheaper lower spec cars are easier to move on I certainly would not sell mine under 100K, so looks like I won't be selling

Have just put mine on SOR, will be up on PH in a few days if not sold already.
Higher spec and McLaren Orange.
Cant even consider anything else but a McLaren.
