I bet if the dealer needed one for a car that they were selling it wouldn't be £21 for delivery.

In the scale of things you own a supercar and moan about £40 ?! WTF
You could have always collected it if you didn't like the delivery charge. I'm sure the dealer only passed on the cost FFS

A bit harsh and completely missing the point......

I've ordered dozens of bits from my Ferrari main dealer, many came from Italy and I've never paid a penny postage. I'd like a McLaren one day. I want them to do well as a UK based company but I hear time and time again the service support is not where it needs to be, so at the moment they're not an option.

Truth is you can buy next day delivery for a couple of quid easily, esp for a small item. £21.00 is taking the mickey. It’s not the money necessarily, it is the principle of being ripped off...and then failing to delivery next day when you have swallowed the pill just adds insult to injury.

Agreed......I would not have paid £21 for delivery of a reflector......it simply does not cost that much......most couriers would do that for less than £5......

+1

Silly comment.

OP - if you paid next day and it hasn't come, ask for a postage refund!

Wrong Rambo...

Supercar owner or not, nobody should be ripped off. The delivery charge for a small item is £5 max!

Would you pay £21 for a latte in Costa? I mean in the grand scale of things............... smile

Yes I own a super car am I stupid with money errrm no, £20 delivery is still a rip off for something Royal mail, special would have been £7 and here as promised next day , ps my closest dealer is 140 miles away so collecting is out the question

So I believe that reply is not really warranted

Rest assured, you will be paying for the postage for the Ferrari part somewhere. Either as part of the RRP for the part, as part of your service costs, or from the purchase cost of every Ferrari sold.

£21 postage is ridiculous for such a small part, however the OP could have tried another dealer, or picked one up next time he or a friend was near a dealer or had the car in for a service if he wasn't happy paying £40 for a replacement reflector.

Why didn't you ask for an explanation of the delivery charge and if not happy arrange for your own courier to collect it if it was worth the hassle to save a few quid ?

Any comments from McAscot yet?

Seriously, get onto the McLaren Owners group on Facebook and see if anybody is due there in the next day or two, ask them to pick it up and post it out first class for the price of a coffee. It'll be more reliable and they're a helpful bunch.

Agree to an extent BUT

If someone asks me to post something the hassle is a lot eg sorting courier, wrapping it up and all that jazz so there is a staff cost in that and going to post it etc
