Just my euros worth.
How many people here actually know of a young person going into mechanical engineering?
Because in the last 30 years I know of one lad who has decided to take this type of career ????
Everybody wanting office based jobs. ????
and the irony is that all us poor souls stuck in offices* actually dream of doing something more constructive with hammers and spanners

* wfh, but that's being pedantic

A bit OT, but I’m in the semiconductor business. When I look at all the applications my products are going into, I am convinced we are in the start of the 4th Industrial Revolution - pervasive automation and intelligent interconnected devices. Indeed jobs involving manipulation of physical objects have a limited life cycle. Can still be a great hobby though.

Best if you don’t. Look what you did to your car last time they let you use hammers and spanners.

Well done! To be fair, you seem more adept with tools than either of us Andrews!

Nothing gets past you eh?
Apart from that 1.0 Micra. And the bicycle, being pushed by a 1 legged tortoise.
But apart from that!

Thanks, missed that.

This agricultural machinery from the ‘60’s is not too bad, but I have no clue how to even access modern stuff. As for that YouTube guy stripping down a 720 that had a cracked tub and fitting it all back into a different shell, the mind boggles. Though the complexity did give some insights into the reasons for the occasional “Key not found” smile
