Howmanyleft suggests very roughly twice as many Ferraris registered in the UK for the first time as McLaren in 2017 representing an approximately similar percentage of overall production

When I went to the British GP a few weeks ago, the interior car parks were packed full of McLarens, there were at least 3-4 times as many than Ferrari’s, and only a few Lambos..

Good for them... tongue outsmile
That's cus 9/10 Ferrari owners don't drive them in fear of them falling apart rofl but at least they can't get them fixed for a pricely sum when they do regularly

You just help making yourself look a complete buffoon, can you ? I could walk into th McLaren dealership and get any car in the range. Try that with an 812, Pista or GT3 RS.
You know you want a McLaren - so lets see you get a 600LT, Senna or Speedtail.

fwiw, as far as ownership goes, I went down to my dealer for the launch of the 600LT. Mentioned the parking sensor on the front right being faulty. A few minutes later the service manager was over, and asked for the keys. Handed them over, he had a look round the car, and came back. Said we could be booked in next week, which is not a huge deal. Or after the 20th of Aug if I needed a truck to bring the car back and forth from/to me. I'm doing a big roadtrip in the car end of august, so I said I'd send it in after that. So we shall see what it's like. Lead times seem fine to me, tbh.

Further comparison: stone chip on windscreen of GT2RS when coming back from epic Euro trip. Emailed dealer on Sunday to find out lead time for new screen and also to book car in for oil service now it has covered its first 3500 miles. Got a response Monday morning that service and screen can be done on Weds and they will let me have a new 991 GTS demo courtesy car.
That's the sales department doing it's job...the 991 GTS will have been a sales demo not a car from the service dept's pool I imagine ? Totally makes sense from the OPC's perspective though!

You haven't mentioned whether its faulty because it doesn't go off, or faulty because it always goes off at slow speed.

If its because its always going off its worth checking that your number plate isn't sticking ever-so slightly proud. Its very common on McLaren's due to the curvature of the bumper, and can trigger the parking sensor.

A number of owners in the owners group have saved themselves the need to take their car in 'for investigation' by doing a quick check themselves.

It is, indeed, it always going off at slow speed. Interesting! My front plate keeps falling off anyway, ordered a sticker plate for the front which will be going on in a few days, will see if that alleviates the problem, thanks for the heads up man! Should really join that owners group too!

Actually it was the kind person in the service dept who talked to sales to get the car, without me asking.

Was offered a 600LT by McDubai a month or two back. Not asked about a Speedtail, but I'll concede a Senna is not available. But my comment was aimed at production cars rather than limited editions. Despite having a good relationship with the local Ferrari dealer there's no way I can get a Pista.

I picked up a 9 month old 570s last month and i have never driven a car that gets so much public attention. (Mainly because i look a plonker when trying to lock it and the driver window wont go up so i have to climb over the passenger seat to shut it).

Have informed McLaren of this and a paint issue with the roof and interested to see how they resolve.

Having said this i have had issues with my new Porsche and other luxury German brands. To hear of a car brand that hasn't got issues is just unrealistic.

I had the same issue with my drivers door glass, albeit only occasionally. There is a simple reset procedure for the window limits in the handbook which can help, but since it went in for it's service it's never happened again.

thumbup enjoy.

There's a lot of smoke and mirrors with ALL the Supercar brands, their marketing spin about car's not being available/sold out is not always true.

I know people who haven't yet committed to a 600LT order who dealers are actively pushing to 'sign on the dotted line', as well as Senna's being offered to 'certain' people.

You'll very likely get a Pista, just not an early one. Similarly 812 Superfasts (supposedly sold out for whole 5 year production period) are available to known clients, but not anyone new to the brand/not bought a brand new Ferrari before will be told they're 'sold out'.

We all like to think we're immune to the powers of marketing but subconsciously we're all suckers - and Supercar Marketeers are good at their job!

It's a common fault, normally an over sensative anti-foul switch.

Until you get it sorted out, press and hold the close button on your fob, that should raise any open windows.
