Yer thanks for the window tip, and have been using these but still very temperamental.

It appears as thought there is a cill lose, and sure will be sorted by the dealer.

Further comparison: stone chip on windscreen of GT2RS when coming back from epic Euro trip. Emailed dealer on Sunday to find out lead time for new screen and also to book car in for oil service now it has covered its first 3500 miles. Got a response Monday morning that service and screen can be done on Weds and they will let me have a new 991 GTS demo courtesy car.
That's the sales department doing it's job...the 991 GTS will have been a sales demo not a car from the service dept's pool I imagine ? Totally makes sense from the OPC's perspective though!
Actually it was the kind person in the service dept who talked to sales to get the car, without me asking.
Even better biggrin

That's cus 9/10 Ferrari owners don't drive them in fear of them falling apart rofl but at least they can't get them fixed for a pricely sum when they do regularly
Yeah, I've a 15 year old 360 that get's driven regularly and has had zero issues in the past 12 months. Compare that to a mate of mine's 570s that has been back and forth to the dealers since April and he's paid for 3 months where he hasn't had access to the car., the 6 weeks he has had it have been rather expensive. Having seen your posts over the past few months you're either; McLaren's biggest fanboi, have had bad experiences with other manufactures or are an utter twonk who likes winding people up.

BTW my indie is awesome and very reasonable...how's your Indie? Oh....wait....Sorry.

Conveniently forget to mention the previous 14 years when it was a nightmare. See Sams at Seen Through Glass posts on his dream Ferrari 360 experience.
To quote him " you turn the key and pray, and then ignore the check lights. "

Seems like a box of chocolates and a lucky dip with any supercar then

Nope, routine maintenance and every 3 years a fairly big bill...but don't pay 5K for a warranty and so far been alright (reaches to touch every piece of wood within a 3 miles radius)

What hassle ? I've owned 3 now and had no hassle. Go as far to say the 650S spider ( only replaced by a 675LT Spider which will be even more epic ) was the best and most reliable supercar I have ever owned and I've had many from the competitors brands.

The appeal to owning one is :
1. The best supercars money can buy
2. Exclusivity. Any Tom Dick or Harry ( and musn't forget Jules ) can have a Ferrari or Porsche
I’m getting used to RL “idiosyncrasies” now. Not one part of that is true. I’m on my 5th McLaren and 4 of them have had to go back to dealer/factory for issues. Mostly minor, but issues all the same. Its very poor, as is the quality of the people in the service departments I’ve mostly dealt with.

I’ve also had more problems with the McL’s than with many more Ferrari’s. Mostly modern, but the odd old one too - like a SWB - that caused me no problems at all while I had it. Granted they don’t do huge mileage, but I can’t remember the last problem I had. I always use the same dealer for servicing the newer stuff anyway, so can only vouch for one with any regular knowledge (its far from being my local one but I trust them) and they always get things done quickly. So no problems there.

All of this leads me onto your second point about exclusivity. I’ve been offered a 600LT by a dealer today. He claims its their “first car and a cancelled order” but who knows, and I’ve said no because I don’t want one (despite loving my current LT). But compare this to Ferrari, who despite my having tried to buy enough cars for Tom, Dick and Harry in the past didn’t offer me a LaFerrari. I get some of the special stuff, TDF/Pista etc but that’s taken god knows how many years of loyalty etc, but I can’t get the properly special stuff. Yet. So how does your theory about exclusivity work exactly?!

Apologies for adding to the Mclaren After Sales doom and gloom but thought i should share this.
I’ve got a new 570S just 8 weeks old. It took me 12 months of begging the boss to get the all clear on the purchase of this car, i had one from a main dealer last year for a week and have been hooked every since. The boss has been in the motor trade years and up until recent times Sales Manager for a premium brand so getting the all clear can sometimes be a battle unless the car in question is a Porsche. I was constantly told that buying a Mclaren Kit Car was a crazy idea! Up to now sadly she’s been right.
I’ve been in a fortune position to have owned some lovely cars over the years and have had problems with some but have never had cause to complain about the level of customer care and service received.
I really love this car and i guess its for that reason that I’ve resisted so far from parking it outside the dealership and setting up camp until I’ve got my money back but the more i think about it perhaps i should.
At present I’ve got the slowest 570 in the country. It’s got massive turbo lag which was detected 3 weeks ago.(No air con either but that’s just standard I’m told) The car went back after the first week of ownership.A few bits of rubber trim came adrift, door rattle, wheel wobble and no shift lights in track mode. This time the first call to the dealership where it was purchased resulted in a date of 10th September to look at the car. Further calls to DP brought this date back to the 20th August. I had 2 options - wait until the 20th and dealership will lend another Mclaren or call Mclaren Assistance to collect the car but it wouldn’t get seen until the 20th.
Following a weeks worth of calls Mclaren Customer Relations the best they could come up was a Volvo or Toyota courtesy car from Enterprise whilst my car was waiting to be looked at.
As you can imagine that wasn’t an option i was happy to accept. Insisted on speaking to Customer Reations Manager at Mclaren to see if at the very least they could come up with a comparable loan car but after ringing every day this week not once have they returned my calls. All I’m told is they can’t authorise anything other than a medium class rental car, its the dealerships responsibility to provide a like for like replacement and if they haven’t got a car available then there isn’t anything they can do to help.
It’s sad that Mclaren haven’t ensured that their dealer service facilities have got the means to come with the number of cars that have been sold. I don’t know what’s the answer, i understand that its the dealers responsibility to provide the customer care but if things are as bad as is reported then Mclaren if they want to retain customers and pull perspective owners out of other brands have to think of a way to intervene and help out dealers. Maybe cars could go back to the factory.
I would have loved to have come on hear with nothing but great reports and no one wants Mclaren to grow with huge success more than me. BUT i cant help thinking now I’ve made a mistake. My cars not fixed yet and I’m already dreading the next time it goes wrong. Should ownership of such an awesome car should bring with it this kind of stress.

Lol, I clicked on his garage. You know when you think you've done alright and you're a fairly chunky tuna and then a f*cking great big shark swims into view? That. ;-)

I've owned a 570s since January! Tried to buy one 3 times from a dealer network, low and behold service was awful!! No call back made 3 visits sales staff wouldn't even come and acknowledged me! (McLaren London) So I decided to buy from outside their network and bought my car from Tom Hartley!

Since January my car has been with McLaren for warranty work for over 4 months!

Paint corrosion on a car less than 2 years old then God awful service! Now reading this I can see exactly why!

This cannot go on! I've ended up putting the thing up for sale...

I purchased a 12 month old 570S on the 2nd July 2018, I also found corrosion areas 2 weeks later. The main dealer took a look and agreed the warranty work, car went in on the 30th July and collected on the 9th August.

All done to time frame and kept updated. My dealer is based in the West Midlands.

This is such a shame. Amazing cars and British but with a back up like this surely people won’t jump into the brand if they do their research.
This takes me back to the days when i had a TVR. I had what felt like a TVR Time Share. Bought a new Tuscan S. I had it for a week and then TVR had it for 3 weeks mending it! The dealer network couldn’t cope with all the problems so TVR factory intervened and at least they used to bring out another TVR whilst mine was on holiday in Blackpool, they didn’t think a Volvo was a suitable replacement!

Where on the car did you find the corrosion?
