I still waiting Gary. That's an offensive and derogatory allegation to make in a public forum. Are you going to substantiate it ?Come to think of it can you see Mrs Jules at the moment ?
If you are not careful he’ll have her all signed up on a 4 year deal on a lovely new Sorrento from the Swindon branch before you know it.

play nice guys .... on the one hand I like that fact that on the McLaren topics at least people post regularly on the other hand it does seem to - most of the time - end up a little over the top
certainly - apart from the Porsche GT car allocation process - nothing seems to attract as many opinions as McLarens
for all their foibles at least RL, TP321 and Jules seem to post regularly - without you guys this forum section would be pretty dead nowadays. It feels like all of the value talk has scared away a lot of the past posters (same goes for the Porsche forum I feel) - and the constant bickering probably does not help either
also too few track day, road trip etc posts with pictures nowadays, which I find quite sad

Truth is that owners choose to spend their time doing the things you describe via the Owners Group on FB which is a thriving community and great source of knowledge. certainly - apart from the Porsche GT car allocation process - nothing seems to attract as many opinions as McLarens

The constant fkwittery on here is what has pushed most owners towards that platform.
Would you like to expand on this a bit more ??

How does RL ever get any work done to sell those 15000 Kia’s as he’s always on here, I wonder what Steve Hicks would have to say ??

No offence caused I assure you old chap.
I have no desire to come over all RL but it is increasingly frustrating reading posts from idiots like TP321 knocking the brand in an attempt to get a rise. Equally whilst impossible to prove it strikes me that this thread was started as another “oh look McLaren isn’t doing well is it ?”.
I’m fully aware of the issues some cars are having, I have been fairly lucky over two cars and 16,000 miles so far, I also believe my dealer (Glasgow) is the best in the network.
I’m sorry for the issues you have suffered and I can 100% believe them. It’s really disappointing because these are such good cars at their core.
My annoyance, and indeed bewilderment, is why it seems so many non-owners are keen to bash the brand and actively seek to promote the bad experiences genuine owners such as those you have had. I don’t see this happening on other brand fora and really don’t understand why McLaren has attracted this strange following on PH.
Just to clarify, I never started this thread as a dig at McLaren, even after experiencing no end of problems with my first 570 and losing more in depreciation than my previous 3 cars combined I still bought a 2nd 570 so its safe to say I am a supporter of the brand. I presumed by the time I purchased the second car they would have got their act together but the reliability and customer service still leaves a lot to be desired. I got the spider not long after launch but even then there were still a huge number of stock cars available which made me think twice about taking delivery.
I'd love to know why McLaren insist on making so many cars that they end up having to give discounts, this may work in the short term but in the long term I'm not so sure.
If anyone from McLaren is reading this please take notice of Ferrari, Porsche and Rolex's brand management and product supply.

Unfortunately and I don't mean this in a disrespectful way but you are a typical customer of the brand.I presumed by the time I purchased the second car they would have got their act together but the reliability and customer service still leaves a lot to be desired. I remember standing in the showroom and going over the 720 I was just about to purchase with one of the top guys from mclaren and noticed the door was almost half an inch out from the rear quarter to which he replied;
" yes sir - our usual customer base would not have an issue with that"
Like fking hell, have some pride in the product your supplying for goodness sake.

Whilst I admire your dedication on that thread GF I have a feeling it falls on very deaf ears.
Ironically the only one really warned and sanctioned by way of being banned from this thread is Gary himself.

The constant childishness in this forum is very tiresome and RL isn't the only one who needs to get a grip.
For those of us who aren't on social media this was our main source of info and interest, frankly it's been on a downward trajectory for a while now and getting less and less appealing.
A real shame.

And the next time it kicks off it will still be everyone else's fault.

Absolutely- looking to join McLaren ownership and came here for information and have been amazed at the anti McL feeling by the obviously uninformed and ghost owners. For those of us who aren't on social media this was our main source of info and interest, frankly it's been on a downward trajectory for a while now and getting less and less appealing.

I mistakenly thought that PH was a car enthusiasts forum..

What relevance does that have to the point I made and why some people who don’t own the brand seem to want to run it down from a position of zero first hand experience ?
trust me, i have far more first hand experience than you...i used the term "newbies" for this exact reason And just because you are an owner, that does not mean that you can shoot down FACTUAL posts. And the situation on the McLaren Owners Facebook site is far worse - daily rants about depreciation, slagging off dealers, and gearbox problems.
And finally, Non Owners can mean many things: a) someone who does not own one, b) someone who does not currently own one, but may own one in the future, c) someone who does not own one but did so in the past...
So if Non Owners are giving McLaren a knocking, McLaren should definitely be listening.

But why would anyone on here trust you!? You tell us everything & show us nothing! And just because you are an owner, that does not mean that you can shoot down FACTUAL posts.
