on the one hand I like that fact that on the McLaren topics at least people post regularly on the other hand it does seem to - most of the time - end up a little over the top

for all their foibles at least RL, TP321 and Jules seem to post regularly - without you guys this forum section would be pretty dead nowadays.
Between RL/TP321 and the RL baiting, I'm not convinced that the McLaren section isn't better off being pretty dead.....

What relevance does that have to the point I made and why some people who don’t own the brand seem to want to run it down from a position of zero first hand experience ?
trust me, i have far more first hand experience than you...i used the term "newbies" for this exact reason wink

And just because you are an owner, that does not mean that you can shoot down FACTUAL posts. And the situation on the McLaren Owners Facebook site is far worse - daily rants about depreciation, slagging off dealers, and gearbox problems.

And finally, Non Owners can mean many things: a) someone who does not own one, b) someone who does not currently own one, but may own one in the future, c) someone who does not own one but did so in the past...

So if Non Owners are giving McLaren a knocking, McLaren should definitely be listening.

I’m not shooting down factual posts. There are plenty of issues with the brand but there are more satisfied than dissatisfied owners as far as I can see. The group activities and many meets organised by the owners group would seem to back that up.

What I question is your constant, Tourette’s like, trolling of this forum and your seemingly unquenchable desire to show people they have somehow made a mistake and generally piss on their chips. You claim that you “have more first hand experience “ than “newbies” but off zero detail whatsoever. What possible reason could you have for not sharing the details of the ownership experience you had ? Surely it’s best to provide specifics so that others can at least learn from what you went through. It just makes no sense.

It’s really odd behaviour, we have all no doubt had bad experiences with various cars over the years but how many people do you see on these boards actively trolling the one marque forums in the fashion that you do ?

So which one are of those three sub groups you mention are you ?

Are you in the FB group ? I am and I promise you whilst it has a good deal of griping, specifically about brand /residuals management and customer service it is not home to “daily rants” about gearboxes.

if so say hello and introduce yourself.

Yes, if you're wondering where all the normal posts are, we're on the Owners Club forum. Not much incentive to post here given the way every thread degenerates. btw I for one found TP321's advice and posts useful because after a while and some research I just realised to take the opposite view, which turned out to be more useful! And however he's goes about it, at least RamboLambo is a car enthusiast and I suspect he's a one man band battling all the hate on here.

Back on thread - as had already been said, it's obviously a storage area for cars awaiting shipment, presumably abroad. And to contradict an earlier observation if I may, if you look closely, the cars are on trickle chargers. And if you also want to nerd off, the holes in the covers where the cars' exhausts are, you can tell that it's a combination of 720s and 570s.

If you've not seen this before, towards the end you can see the cars in their covers being transported from the MTC.

Like the guy I used to work with who kept boasting he had 25 years experience in his job so knew better than everybody else.

Turns out he had 1 years experience repeated 25 times.

Otherwise known as bullstting smile

My guess is either sin bin for that comment or banned from yet another thread, but everyone else is the troll of course.
It seems not. He's just posted this weirdness in £200k to spend on supercar thread:-

I’m not sure what the big fuss is regarding this picture. It could be cardboard being shipped abroad. Every manufacturer has new cars available to buy or new cars advertised as pre owned. Look at the amount of Porsche Carerra T’s and even new GT3’s advertises for sale. They are supposed to be sold out.

The market is slowing down for all cars. I have seen a lot of manual Ferrari’s for sale for a long time, plenty of Porsche GT cars for sale for ages and Aston V12 manuals selling slowly.

The question you need to ask is what would I buy that is better than a McLaren for similar money. Not much.

he did not say at list though

generally agree, the market seems to be slowing down. I spend most of my time on mobile.de (sad I know...), and now you can pick up 355s in the 50s again, 550s in 70s and 80s, a 599 GTO in the 400s, a 911 R for 300 and so on and so on - certainly asking prices have come down quite a bit and the cars are still sticking best as I can tell.

I took it when he said new GT3 and he thought they were all supposed to be sold out that he meant there not actually sold out and that there were some cars available. My impression was that they have all been sold and are only available as second owner vehicles at around £30-£50k over list cry

720S are only made to order by the factory. Some are ordered by dealers though, anticipating a sale.

The warehouse ones are clearly waiting for shipping.

Being on trickle chargers is normal. 720S has a lightweight LiIon battery, which has maximum 45 days charge, and if flattened fully cannot be recharged.
