I generally agree, although if the 720 hits 150k or lower, then might consider that as an alternative. I just saw the cheapest ones are already in the 180s asking price. Spider announcement will probably put additional pressure on the coupes once those get delivered.
I am aware one is a limited run track car and the other one a standard model, but to me at least the 720 then starts to look like better value for money, esp if I can find one with buckets and harnesses to use on track.
The ONLY track pack 720s with buckets and harnesses I've seen are the ones McLaren use at Pure events and have been properly thrashed around numerous tracks all day. The Azore orange one I drove at Silverstone needed new seats and new ceramics. Mental machine, though I still prefer my 675.I am aware one is a limited run track car and the other one a standard model, but to me at least the 720 then starts to look like better value for money, esp if I can find one with buckets and harnesses to use on track.
If I had a 675, I would also not trade it for a 720

yeah my options wishes will probably lead to it having been on track more than average - assuming the car can take it, I wouldn't be too worried about it though (and if the car can't take it, then it is the wrong car for what I envisioned as the main use - as mainly track car [plus Autobahn obviously])

Get a 720 and retrofit the seats if you can't find one with them, easy enough. If I had a 675, I would also not trade it for a 720
Then decide if you want the harness (that's the rare and expensive bit )

Even if you are fitting something that was on the options list of that car?
Probably not approval, but may have to be listed on the car's paper work. I was stopped at the Austrian border years ago & they checked every mod was listed (steering wheel, etc). Long time ago, but doubt the Germans have changed their law on this matter as everything needs to be TüV approved.

I have not looked into it in detail but you are indeed right - basically you can't change the delivery spec of the car as far as I can tell. It is called Einzelabnahme for everything that is not per factory spec of the specific car - there might be parts pre-approved that don't need that - e.g. putting Cup 2 tyres on my Scuderia instead of Corsas as that tyre has a specifically exception, but changing stuff light seats etc, not sure
Been told you have to take your Fahrzeug to the landratsamt who will help you if you want to change seats etc. Fully biased as an LTSpider owner, but I don't agree that the 720s and the LT are comparable. Build quality of the LT is widely commented on as being far superior to the 720s. Also, whilst it may not be faster, the LT is a limited run car. I really can't see LTs with a good spec at 200k for a long time. Granted they do depreciate like crumbling masonry but I can't see them below 200k unless high miles / sub-optimal spec / both. PS my seats are changed to carbon fibre racing buckets (McLaren OEM seats) and I think I would laugh if some copper tried to tell me that it wasn't allowed. Whatever mate. Jog on. Nobody drives with a full spec sheet - surely?! I might need to do some homework here as I'm off on a few road trips next year to those parts.....
Carbon looks much better but yes technically irrelevant with these cars...obviously you will get a car for less money without carbon and that`s a win win for you.
As for values of any expensive cars...it is only a matter of time before we return to normal market conditions...as fantastic as these cars are, they are not "special" enough to be sought after in a way that will maintain values long term...they will always be worth relatively more than the standard models.

I drove my 675LT spider for the first time today and found the seats really low.
There doesn't seem to be any height adjustment, is it something a dealer can mod?
I'm sure I'm not the only short arse!
Three levels depending on which holes of on the bracket you use. There doesn't seem to be any height adjustment, is it something a dealer can mod?

It is a DIY job if you feel happy doing it, if not take it to the dealer.

WCZ I think that's a bit harsh. I don't brag about CF front louvres but I do think it looks better to my eyes. Whether you like it or not, I couldn't give a monkeys about what you think about me. Not bragging. To each their own mate.
it looks better because you associate it with being an exotic lightweight material, I understand that money can be saved if you like the visual aspect with cf wrapping and such though, quite a few people did this on the their 458's to save money
