I spoke to my dealer today about taking my 570s back (bought in July 2018). Was just curious on dealers buying stock. Told me they had a full stock for the end of the year and would not consider even entertaining it until Jan 2019. I love the car but not using as much as i hoped and weather has been rubbish recently. Seems like it is true about the dealers not wanting to buy stock back.

Right, it's been said many times. Quite bad really especially if you really needed to get out of it.

I was told by a dealer that at the moment, Mclaren are only making the 720s and the 600lt. They have paused production on the 540, and all variants of the 570s. I dont know how accurate that is...
I would agree, I think she said 24 cars including 3 Senna

Basically I think its fkING disgusting when a dealer wont buy back its own product for retail, that simply goes to show that there is little to no value in second hand Mclarens, come January they will tell you they are fully stocked to spring!

What sort of relationship is it when after spending circa £180K on a car the dealer doesn't want to know about the very product it sells. I'm so pleased I bought a Porsche in the end,no such problems they will buy it back anytime and also gave me a great price on my last one.

Sounds like I had a lucky escape not buying a 570 yikes

That may have something to do with Porsche not having made any new cars for a while. As I understand it dealers are making stupid bids to buy nearly new cars off customers because it is the closest thing they can get to a new car right now.

Speaking to a dealer the other week who’d agreed to take a nearly new 911 in against a new RR , the customer rang him up and told him a Porsche dealer was so desperate for stock he’d offered the owner virtually what he’d paid for it new as an outright purchase.

Same position a friend of mine found himself in last month , so it would appear they are desperate for good stock to sell.

Interesting you say this as a friend of mine recently sold his to a dealer called International Collectables. Might be worth a try...

don't really get that, you wouldn't expect any other retailer to buy back his product or even a developer who sold you a house

and am sure the offer BMW gives you for your M5 a few months after you drove it off the lot will probably either be really bad or not forthcoming at all

Edit: or to stay with the Porsche example, I am not sure how keen Porsche is right now to buy back your Diesel Panamera or Cayenne
