Sorry if this has been asked before.
Since they are about the same money I've been vacillating between swapping in my GT to either a 650S Spider of 570S Spider.

I can't sort a test drive easily at all (though i have had low speed drives in both so i know i fit) as I'm in China for work. The car would live in the UK.

Would I notice a huge difference in performance between the two?

I know the 570 is a newer car but, that's not always a good thing as I often feel that companies learn how to make a car over time...so a late 650S might have less issues?

Would appreciate any advice.

Definitely down to personal preference , me personally have a 570s and have had it longer than any other car which do say something, I never get bored with it and still scares the dh%t out of me when driven hard , I bought as when in a similar situation to yourself I wanted the more modern car granted it’s not as quick , but from what I hear it’s way more reliable, and is a better looking car

Similar to me, although I wanted one with as long a warranty as possible. Went for a 540C after initially looking at a 12C.

Being honest, I don't think you will go wrong with either. I struggle to see where I need more performance on the road in my 540C. Doesn't stop me wanting a 720S though!

I have seen quite a few statements from McLaren folk and industry press that the 650S is in fact the most “resolved” McLaren in terms of niggles and issues, but it is a little older obviously than a 570.

I am merely passing on what others have said, but having never owned a McLaren I cannot offer first hand advice. I am sure there will be plenty that can.

I hope you find what you are looking for..post some pics when you do.

I’ve driven both quite extensively and am in the market for a 650S spider. A more visceral driving experience for me - a bit more drama, noise, sense of occasion plus the ride quality with the trick suspension is superior. Love the active aero too. Interior also to my eye a more special place to be. Lastly, I’m 6’3” and with my proportions found the 650 a more comfortable place to be vs 570.

Don’t think you can make a bad decision with these two though; both highly capable machines.

In a 650 the air brake comed up vertical when you slam your brakes. It's a thing to behold. For they reason alone id go 650.

Similar issue as I have.

Do I go 650S or 570S Spider.

My thoughts are :

As I do quite a few track days would the 650 be better with the Aero kit and trick suspension.
It is a bit heavier but has 80bhp more

570 is newer , probably better looking but slower and less trickery .

For same money I can get a 2014/15 650 or a 2016/17 570

A track bias is my preference

Would Appreciate any info on the 2 particularly if anyone has tracked both

I've had both but tracked neither.
On the roads however I'd say the 570 is more fun.

I test drove the 570 and 650S and bought the 650s which I’ve had for around 2 years. Have loved every minute of it and would highly recommend it.

About to sell it as I fancy a Lamborghini (never owned one) in case anyone is interested.

Just tried but it says your account doesn’t accept emails.
