There seems to be a bit of a pattern with this car, they have now increased the price considerably back up to £125k ????

I’ve known the car fail to sell in 3 of the garages it’s been advertised in over the last year and a bit and on two occasions it’s had the price increased????

It didn’t sell a year ago at £125k why on earth would they increase the price back up tomtgis knowing it’s been moved around at least 3 garages and still failed to sell????

I guess the next part of the pattern was for it to be marked sold again only to pop up in another independent.

Is the owner of this car on this forum?
And now it’s on eBay for 10k less, back down to £115k
Good this car is doing the rounds, it’s now appeared at a different independent for £129,990.... back up in price it goes!

I know very little in terms of spec on any Mclaren, please could someone tell me why the car below is £30k cheaper than the one further up my post?

There’s also a couple of other very low milage 650s coupe now listed for sale at £99k, which is starting to look like a lot of car for the money.

Interesting it’s now listed in the 650s spider section and even labelled as a spider in the advert header but then goes to say it’s a coupe in the description!

I guess the new independent trying to sell it this time around feels if they mix it up with the more expensive spider cars it doesn’t look so pricey!

All very odd.

i guess what stunned me was that >£200k to <£100k in 3 years and 4k miles, car looks great but even by my sketchy maths in this example that is £25 per mile depreciation before any other running costs are discussed. there has to be a finite number of repeat customers for that? if one was to give this a whirl at 100k today what do we think its worth in 3 more years with a total of 10k miles? £60k?
I wouldn’t shock me if cars like this will end up being around 60k in 3 years time based on what you mentioned above. I’m not sure how true the comments are but apparently most independents would only be willing to SOR a car like this unless they buy it at a low ball price to protect themselves massively.

Would it be fair to say, I would imagine a car like this would be loosing at least £1000 and month for some time?

Lets not forget nice 430 spiders bottomed out in the 50k bracket a little while ago, so I guess 60k is very possible once this car is 6 years old.

At that point in time I guess we may then see nice 720s for around 100 to 110k as Mclaren will have a new kiddy in the block to fill the higher gap.

Imo a nice spec 650s still looks a great super car buy at the moment for 100k, you can easily loose 30k on a Porsche Cayenne over 3 years

Wow they have now slashed 10k off last weeks £130k asking price!

5k more than its lowest advertised price of £115k the other month.

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Still looks expensive compared to other coupes by some mile!

given there are now 5 720Ss in the 150s, I think that a 650 will have to be at close to 100k as I would have thought that finding an extra 30-40k for the newer model should be possible for most buyers
I think trade bid on that car would be £75k-£80k. 650s not ageing as swell as 12C IMO which does not bode well for future values. 12C really starting to look quite cool 9 years on.
Considering this is I think the 5th independent trying to sell this car over the last few years on SOR you may be right. It would appear the market had no interest at this time above 100k do your 75k to 80k trade value may be correct.

Even buying at 100k using for 5k and trying to sell in a year could cost you a small fortune.

Such a waste of a beautiful car.

No idea of running cost as I’m yet to own a Mclaren, but after having a quick look tonight they have slashed a further 5k off the asking price.

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Now its advertised at £110k

The white coupe low milage nice spec 650s coupe looks to of sold after the rrp was dropped to 97k so they look to be moving at the right price.

650s cars are starting to look a lot of car for the money.

They listed it as a spider sometime ago, I assume it’s because most people lol at spiders over coupes and the price they are asking is spider money not coupe money.

Surely it will sell soon as now it’s getting closer to 100k, it’s on SOR so the owners wants out at 100k to 105k at most so they aren’t that far away.

If the owner was more realistic a year ago he could of easy got 110k return SOR at the time.

Only reasoning I can see is, the Porsche is significantly cheaper to run on warranty and servicing.

I can't quite get my head round someone picking a 991T over a Mac. Unless it's for the tiny back seats
Peace of mind, warranty, known depreciation rate, and you can get two sets of golf clubs on the rear seat shelf..
And all complete magnolia...fair enough if that's your thing.

Every person i know that has had a 911 turbo seems to lose interest in them very quickly.

Will be interesting to see how long it takes to shift that turbo s at £127k.

The unfortunate problem with the 650 coupe in question is that it has been tainted by being put from pillar to post trying to sell it...i wonder who actually owns it as so many dealers have had a go at selling.

It seems to have a great spec...the louvered wings alone are currently £5200 a piece to buy unpainted.

It needs to be nearer £100k so you could put a McLaren warranty on if the original has expired as i wouldn't fancy such a low mileage car that has been sitting about trying to be sold...these things were made to be used almost as a daily.
Agree warranty is a must, it’s not been used properly for some time.

The ones who have sat on the side line for sometime will know that this car has sat unsold for over a year.

Such a shame as it’s beautiful imo, the yearly warranty cost kills it for me 4K to 5k a year in warranty cost would get me a divorce.

Come on someone with money to burn buy so I can stop looking at it 🤣

Hello - had a scan through this thread, and some good info been posted about.

I'm currently considering a change from to an R8 V10 Plus, or something like the above 650s.

This 650S seems suspiciously 'cheap' - is it an ex press car? How daft would I be to be shoving 10k mile pa onto something like this?
Interesting, this car was apparently sold a few weeks back but now up for sale again. The buyer must of pulled out for whatever reason.

What ever you bid on it you need to include a Mclaren inspection and years Mclaren warranty.

I have noticed today that the 650s coupe at Alistair Bols looks to have been reduced to a very attractive price of 103k, this is now making the 110k black 650s coupe look expensive imo.

The white sytner car has also been dropped further down from 97k to 96k.

These look a lot of car for the money if you can get a Mclaren service and a Mclaren warranty thrown into the deal.

If you don’t mind me asking which car was yours?

Has it been sold to a dealer to be sold on or did a private buyer snap it up?

I see the black car I like has been dropped by another few thousand on another advertising site, but it always seems to be behind on pricing compared to others. It’s also still under the wrong sales section on piston heads and for some strange reason. You would think if you appointed a dealer and they were trying to sell your car at this level they would at least put it in the right section.

Well I had a shock this morning when having a cuppa tea and taking a look if there had been any new additions to the used 650s coupe offering, I actually nearly choked on my tea!

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

£86,000 for a nice spec 5k car 2015 plate coupe, makes the black one I like which has now been dropped again in price still look crazily overpriced at 30 plus grand more. If the low mileage 2015 plate car is being retailed at 86k it must of been bought in around 70k to 75k.

Are these really dropping in price this fast?

Well just over a week or two later and it’s now dropped down to £104.9k. It’s as if all the dealers that have tried to sell it don’t know how to price it and keep chancing it until they get a bit. It’s around a year ago since I started this thread and I’m really shocked this car hasn’t sold. Thank god no one bought it at £129,990 when advertised as they would of had a expensive few months if they tried to trade it on now.

I wonder what it’s true trade value would be for a straight purchase given the current market?

They must of stuffed 10k in the glove box as it’s just gone back up, now £117,490

Either the owner who has it on SOR is loosing the plot changing the price all the time or this is now owned buy the independent garage trying to sell it and they are happy hike the price up and sit on it for some time.

Either way I’ve never seen a car go up and down in price so many times over a 12 month or being moved around to so many different independent garages who have all struggled to sell it.

It wouldn’t shock me if the next time we see it will be in a auction house.

Such a shame as I personally think it’s a beautiful looking car.
