Exactly this.

I see no owner that has said they don't believe there have been cars with problems, or bad dealer experiences.

Equally, there have been cars that have been 100% problem free.

Friend bought one 4 weeks ago (540)

It’s spent 3 weeks at McClaren Hatfield, who to be fair, have tried their hardest. They just don’t know how to fix their cars.

Engine light back on 10 minutes after leaving the dealer, went out for 200 miles, now back on again. I wouldn’t expect that from Dacia, let alone a premium (sic) brand.
Another friend who has one post smile btw it is McLaren, hope your friend has taken it to the correct dealership wink

You seem to suggest Hatfield are not good ? Would you be capable of any real assistance? Or want to spend the rest of your life as a spell checker?

You don’t really have anything of substance to say, do you fella, on your way.

It went back to Hatfield again today, same engine light, and handbrake failure. Quality motors !

When in the market for a car , I have never ever considered during the choosing process whether there is a warranty and how comprehensive it is. I have owned many many cars and never felt this subject an issue.
When the warranty is more important than the vehicle, it's time to worry....... Both The purchaser and the manufacturer !!!
I can't remember the last time I had a car in warranty ( apart from my current car which the first owner purchased an extension to 5 years. I only found this out 5 months after purchase. I thought it was out of warranty and had no problem with that. )
It seems McLaren should change their sales approach to...... " Spend £150000 on a warranty and get a free car " as it seems to be the best performing part.
Big shame because I want one !!!

Buy one then and listen to all the people posting on this thread who have had multiple McLaren's without any issues...…..rather than the people posting about their mates/boss/neighbour who had one that was "always" at the dealership...……...

720S. As I've said, I have had zero instances of the alarm going off, zero limp mode, zero warning lights, zero electrical issues or even temporary glitches. No window issues, no soft close issues. Just nothing going wrong. No reliability issues whatsoever.

Even the iPhone Bluetooth connection has been rock solid, which is a lot better than in my BMW.

One thing that occurs to me is that mine is a 2019 car however (silver ticks, not red, and "K" VIN) as that might be one reason based on discussions amongst American owners. (2019 model cars started to be delivered in summer 2018.)

Our 720S was delivered in Q4 2017 and also have had zero issues with it.

Mine is also a late 17, I was called a liar when I reported I’ve had no problems by a well known forum recent Mac hater !

All of the last five posters...………..owners...…….not "may mates dads works mates bosses neighbour"...……...zero issues all round...……

They are great cars...…….yes some cars have issues but no where near the amount forums would have you believe...…..for some reason, negative McLaren posts get far more attention than other brands......…...do the dealers have a lot on their hands given the number of cars sold...….yes...……..it's not world class...……….but it will get there!

Sarnie, you do a great job striking a warmly reassuring tone. Please keep it up, speaking as someone who has a kindling interest right now.

Tires rolling the fenders when turning on an incline.
Water pouring through the windows when washing with a hose.
Shrinking leather popping off the dash.
Both doors failing to open.
Randomly refusing to start.

Mclaren? No - I’m referring to my effing F355 Ferrari. Worst car I ever owned - but back then no Internet forums or Youtube, so I’ve got to make up for lost time.

650s - rock solid so far

I loved my 12c when I had it ...even the swipe doors which sometimes didn't;t working the rain were so sensual smile

Unfortunately the next owned had a problem but --- I still love them.

If I was buying now I'd go for a 650S. The best 12c ! ?

With a warranty and peace of mind. And I'd put mileage on it.

That's value.

It's a better 12c but still one with a bad facelift wink the best P11 is the 675 - by a good distance and even at the price differential to the 650. That or the 12c are the ones to go for imo.

Nice to see this one get resolved. Shame it took a YouTube campaign before McLaren did what they should have done to start with

But don’t worry other McLaren owners, Matty3’s car is ok. As long as they keep him happy all is ok in the world! beer
