Another Senna Fire

Ok. So back on topic.
Grand total ( as far as i am aware ) of 2 Sennas catching fire.
Not quite the large amount of 458, Gt3s or Zafiras that have burst into flames.
One that had been getting used hard on track over the race weekend, then it caught fire on a parade lap, extinguished and back to McLaren for an immediate investigation.
The other, a youtube blogger that requires views and subscribers to atract advertising revenues for income, bursts into flames 11 days after taking ownership, internet suspicions raised by his wife's comments during filming immediately after, next video then raises about wether the insurance payout shall be at cost or the premium price ($2-300,000.00 over?) Then an unsubstantiated and frankly very hard to conceive claim McLaren have rubbered him and have no interest at all in his Senna.
With everything, there is always 3 sides to the story...in this case, his, McLarens and the actual truth.
In my short time of McLaren ownership, i have had a few dealings with McLaren Glasgow whom have been 1st class, and the McLaren paintshop in East Kilbride whom were also magnificent. Both have bent over backwards to help out...i would in fact say they have went way beyond the call of duty to help out.
None of the above really counts to the posters who prefer to constantly jump onto every McLaren thread and talk about depreciation, faults, rust, how they will get one but only when the sort themselves out, or the latest one that Mclaren owners can only get into one as the finance is cheap or some other utter pish.
Its not the McLaren mafia, its just fed up McLaren owners on the McLaren forum looking to chat with like minded McLaren owners or fans...if you don't like McLarens, or they don't do anything for you, why do you think us McLaren owners need to know this?

Pleased to report just completed a 3k trip around Europe - no problems, no fires - sorry to disappoint the serial non mac owner posters on here - they are outstanding cars - you really should try one
congratulations mclaren, the only brand where the owners post when they manage to complete a journey

So who ends up picking the bill up for this?
Surely the insurance company will back it off to McLaren as its technically a warranty fault where its not fit for purpose etc that has caused the fire in the first instance?
Interestingly, some insurance policies exclude fire when caused by mechanical breakdown. Worth checking the small print of your policy.Surely the insurance company will back it off to McLaren as its technically a warranty fault where its not fit for purpose etc that has caused the fire in the first instance?
I remember seeing a youtube video a few years back of some bosker in an Avantador gunning his engine while sitting in standing traffic looking really cool...until a flame from the overun then set fire to the rear plastic mesh of the bumper...as that went viral i wonder how the insurance company would of looked at that claim... it looked like a total loss.
Thinking about it now i think there were a few similar cases involving Aventadors...

The reason they do this is the fuel vapour release valve is located behind this plastic mesh, when the exhaust gets really hot with no flowing air to disperse the vapour they set fire.Thinking about it now i think there were a few similar cases involving Aventadors...
It's a design fault which imo should be picked up by warranty unless it states in the warranty t&c's that you should not rev the nutts off of it in standing traffic.

Don't you think it should be obvious to anyone who has been entrusted with a licence to drive a 700 bhp vehicle on public roads that certain actions are inappropriate and at risk of being outside the design parameters and intended uses of the car?
Just because you can do something with a consumer product doesn't mean that you should do it.

No - It shouldn't be obvious and if we're talking about design parameters and intended uses as the reasons as to why it should, why would anyone in their right mind think that a car that has been advertised hurtling round a track at triple digit speeds risks setting fire if revved erratically when stationary?
That makes no sense.
