Really? Who cares. Tell me you’re going to drive that lovely 675LT, please.
Yes! Its just the responsible bit kicking out in me!Edited by 12pack on Sunday 21st June 19:33
Would have loved to have taken the 765LT but even my dealer said I'd lose my socks on it!
Did 6000 miles in my 720 in a year, considering it's one of five car's, that isn't bad

Isn't the Pista already yesterday's chip paper, replaced by the F8 Tributo
765LT rather than just the next investment special for me too, I'd much rather have a car which you accept will depreciate for total carefree enjoyment.
The Pista and F8 are quite different cars.765LT rather than just the next investment special for me too, I'd much rather have a car which you accept will depreciate for total carefree enjoyment.
I'd love a 765LT also but I'll wait a while!

i agree, but they'll make another "special" and it simply devalues the first!
But it’s quite a significant edition.. based on an anniversary of a historic win.If they start rolling out “thunder” edition etc which are meaningless then I’d get it.
If you were spec up a standard 720s to the same spec as the Le Mans Edition then would it not be more money??

You can’t spec the roof scoop or wing vents on a std 720, only the LT. If they start rolling out “thunder” edition etc which are meaningless then I’d get it.

Seems like mclaren can’t help themselves and ultimately don’t care as much about long term client strategy.

Brand dilution?
Mclaren have the issue, you are mistaken if you think I have the issue.

Of course they have big issues. I like their cars and can tell the models apart but I do get the criticisms level at them re looks and same/variations on theme etc. There is only so much they are going to be able to do with one engine and platform. Pagani went through the same thing, just one more Zonda.
My point was a roof scoop and wheel arch vents isn’t going to make the Le Mans a 765LT.

They do get a lot of criticism for the engine and platform, but why? Why replace something that even by today’s standards is fantastic. I don’t get the criticisms. There’s little point changing something just for the sake of it. They have already adapted the engine from the original 3.8 to 4.0 as seen in the Senna and 720S.Of course they have big issues. The engine was planned for replacement later this year, but due to Covid will be released next year. V6 Hybrid. I suspect it will be at least P1 performance.

Apart from lack of sound I don’t think the criticism is about the actual engine and platform.
In simple terms, every car is a 2 seat mid engine car using this same ingredients. Yes the super series have different suspensions etc but for instance there’s no front engined GT or 2+2. They’d have more a range of cars and producing 5000 cars a year, the purely mid engined cars would be a percentage of the production. Not all of it, making the rarer.
Of course, easier said than done. They didn’t have the money to develope an additional platform. Now they don’t have money.
