Absolutely a pleasure - I remember was the first to reply? - to help a fellow petrolhead. Had similar doubts and questions years ago also coming from a Cayman.
Don't be let down by stupid people wasting their little brain in writing funny entertaining replies, you have full entitlement to ask question in a forum of petroleahds.
Any more questions please shout.

What's wrong with a bit of dreaming when starting a thread?
There was a significant amount involved when I started the "458 or McLaren" thread - it certainly wasn't something I was planning immediately and there was definitely a healthy dose of wishful thinking. Somehow - and I'm still not entirely sure how - that's resulted in me picking up a 650S Spider on this coming Saturday.

Can't understand why people just can't wait to pile in. We've all done our fair share of dreaming at one point or another, and however short-lived that dreaming may be it doesn't diminish the fact we're all petrolheads and should be able to do it.
The reason I (and I'd venture many of us) come to PH is that there's none of the stuffiness you get with some of the other owner forums, no barrier to entry and we can all talk about how great it'd be to have this and that and hear how great it is from those who do.
OP - if it's a 50/50 purchase/decision, take Mrs OP down to do the test drives, have a bit of lunch and see what she thinks. If she wants a spider then you can get a current-gen R8 spider for the same money as a 540/570 coupe - maybe add that to the list!
