However, since the launch of the new Go+ app, ALL card holders get rewards.
Can you explain how that works, all I can see is you get rewards if you use your app to pay for the juice ? How does it work when using a Shell card ?

Scan your electronic card opening the app, pay cash or card, get reward/discount every 10 visits.

Suggest visiting more less fuel each time, minimum more than £10.

Counter-productive.

There's a system analysing your spending pattern in the background which then generates your rewards and / or freebies.

It's not a fixed reward every 10 visits - the size of the reward depends on spending patterns.

Thanks for letting me know! Didn't know they track fuel usage.

So what's the point of waiting till 10 visit?

It's just an arbitrary threshold at which point everyone knows they'll get a reward pushed into their account - if you've made 10 x £10 fills of standard unleaded, then you'll get a small reward. If you make 10 x £80 fills of VPower, your reward will be much, much bigger. There's also an extra Power reward for every 300 litres of VPower you buy, too.

I've also had a free bottle of flavoured water and a pack of Maynard's wine gums this week.

That’s me well and truly peed off then.... the amount I spend on V Power and zero sign of free wine gums, which I love. I’d only just got over not getting a Pista slot, but this has sent me over the edge frown

I estimate £20k pa in wages to fill up (10 minutes per car, £25ph wages, 20 cars/day, 5 days/wk, 52 wks/yr).

If they cut the filling time down to 5 minutes per car, could they run a filling station in the factory for £10k pa? I doubt it.
I am sure cars get filled with a minimum qty on the manufacturing line before going out to the pump, no fuel tanks are shipped by suppliers with fuel inside. smile

Unless brand new McLarens run with air rather than petrol?
I'm sure it is fuelled at the factory, but there must be a reason for them using the local garage and not their own fuel point, and I'm sure it's not a free packet of fruit pastilles every 10 visits smile

Well if every single car manufactured gets driven for 20 miles than yes it makes sense to re-fill at the pump.

Well I had all sort of things so far, free coffee, free winegum, free chocolate, also fuel discount in between the 10 visits.

It appeared to me random.

To be honest, it's probably because I also buy lots of coffee and other stuff in the shops.

Since i started this topic, i have only been using the car for short journeys so only got round to filling up yesterday.

Stuck with the V-max.

Captive audience round here, so instead of 122p a litre like normal unleaded, its 146p a litre...not the 8p premium some suggested...cheeky bar stewards.

Girl behind the counter says its where all the young pups come with their subarus etc...expensive cruising for them.

On a footnote, after starting the topic, whilst filling my wives AMG tank, i noticed it say 97 ron on the fuel flap...since we got it a few years ago i have been using usual 95 ron...although it certainly seems as though all of the near 600 horses are still present and correct.

Thanks for all the advice and info.

£1.399 in Warwickshire as of yesterday.

Yes is expensive but honestly can't do without. It gives me peace of mind when pushing the engine, even if I know the ECU would block knocking...
