Mclaren depreciation

Sadly the Top555 car is far from my perfect spec ( except the colour ) which is a shame as I have bought several cars from Them in the past and know the quality will be spot on.
For me its a basic car with minimal carbon, no wing louvres and the wrong wheels. Despite the competitive price to get it to the spec I am after would cost another £30k and I hopefully have a better option than that available to me from a mate in October for £235k
The Tour de france blue one is definitely unique (and blue is my favorite colour ) but its just too dark and a little flat and with the red and silver wheels isn't doing it for me at all. Maybe its becoming psychological now but I cant remember the last time I saw a blue that suited a supercar that I liked
( maybe Vega Blue or Blue Nethuns have been the best recently )
Don't panic I have it all in hand
I cant believe that of the 55 675LT owners you know only a couple are buying a 765LT. If thats the case McLaren will really struggle to sell the 1530 cars to primarily new conquest customers.
It also underlines the fact that they are taking existing owners ( who should be their bread and butter ) out of the market which is completely the wrong way to grow the brand. They need to retain their existing customers for the long term and add a smaller proportion of new conquests each year, not constantly finding new prospects or dare I say it VICTIMNS

Your final sentence is slightly bizarre for somebody who's apparently keen to buy a McLaren.
I've spent a good 12 months researching the brand and have half a dozen mates that own various Mclarens so i am learning all the time.I'm keen to add one to my little garage as I have had plenty of Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini in the past and don't really want 2 from the same brand necessarily.
I've got a deposit down on a 765LTS but I'm becoming ever increasingly wary of how this may turn out in this market place.
Its obvious to me that early adoptors who pay full list end up stitched up by the manufacturer's desire to push volumes where the demand is weak with big discounts or ridiculous PCP deals so my preference is probably to buy used where that huge initial depreciation has already gone.
A used 675LTS seems a sensible option as my first venture into the brand so I suspect I will pull my 765LTS deposit but for the moment I have left it there as a backstop and hopefully i will get to see how the coupe performs before they ask me for more money and confirm the spec.
If I get the used 675LTS I seek in the meantime then I may wait a further 18 months to upgrade and pick up a 765LTS at a dramatically reduced price off list price

Unfortunately I fear you will never find you 'perfect' car, there must be only a couple of Napier green with wing louvres. You will have to comprise and allegedly MSO have just sold their last set of spare wing louvres and are not making anymore. You are searching for a unicorn that isn't even for sale. Not buying an almost perfect car because the wheels are the wrong colour makes no sense when they can be colour changed for £350.
Its not just wheel colour, I know that can be changed inexpensively. Top555 car has the wrong wheel type, no carbon upgrades and no louvres. AB's car is too dark a blue with red interior and silver wheels. This is just too far a compromise for me to make.
The Oscar Jacobs car probably offers the best option to upgradeto my spec with MSO options but as its a basic car with delivery mileage I can spend circa £25k to upgrade it making it a £260k car but I will wipe out the mileage premium the minute I drive it.
I'm holding out for a friend to sell me his car in October which is the perfect spec and know to me so worth the premium and with no dealer margin loss for him.
Sadly for him he needs to move on some of his cars to support his business post furlough and he knows he has a buyer of the 675LT spider in waiting at good money so I'm sure despite his reluctance to let it go at all cost he will see sense and let me have it if he doesn't sell some of the other cars in the meantime.
If this wasn't an option then maybe I would of bought by now but if I did and 2 months later he sells it I would be really kicking myself. I waited best part of 12 months now so another couple of months in the scheme of things is neither here or there especially s the summer driving season is over

I check Autotrader and although it's not an exhaustive and 100% accurate view of the market, I didn't think it misses many. However I can only see 12 x 570s spyders on Autotrader now - there are only 10 on PistonHeads.
Where are you seeing 28?!
9 cars in total for sale, that's coupe and spyders combined.
And 3 wanted ads....

8 675Lt's in total on AT. 2 don't count as Carbon body £450k and 0 miles museum example. So 6. another 3 different cars on PH.

675LT's are like rocking horse st at the moment. I must know every car in the country by now and have the whole McLaren network and supercar specialists working on it.9 cars in total for sale, that's coupe and spyders combined.
And 3 wanted ads....
My best bet still lies with persuading a mate to part company with his and threads like this saying how good and scarce they are will not be helping the cause.
Will everyone please refrain from bigging up 675LT spiders especially Napier Green or Papaya spark orange ones which are absolutely terrible, dreadful cars
