570s spec vs mileage

Must haves would be carbon interior, nose lift, would prefer bowlers Wilkins but would take the right car with standard stereo, Any exterior carbon is a bonus
Colour wise I’m pretty open however I’m not a great fan of black or blade silver and I prefer alcantara to full leather but again, not a deal breaker.

The B&W hifi is not essential, the 8 speaker is plenty good enough.Colour wise I’m pretty open however I’m not a great fan of black or blade silver and I prefer alcantara to full leather but again, not a deal breaker.
From what I have seen leather doesn't wear as well as Alcantara and IMO doesn't look as good. Alcantara also stops any glare from the dash too.
Carbon interior is a lovely touch to add to the Alcantara, I'd always want more exterior carbon however!

So would a Volcano Yellow, Track Pack with full Carbon and Alcantara trim interior and Carbon P1 seats and nose lift be of interest?Colour wise I’m pretty open however I’m not a great fan of black or blade silver and I prefer alcantara to full leather but again, not a deal breaker.
I have had quite a few emails about cars, just so people know and I don’t waste anyone’s time I am in the 80-90k budget, but paying cash.
I have missed out on a couple of low mile decent spec cars lately 16/17plates , largely due to timing with what I had on at work, one is now for sale again at a dealer for 20k more than what the seller was willing to accept, but I’m sure something will come up again soon.

You should try and find a car with more than 3 months factory warranty remaining, Im sure it needs more than this amount to be transferred to a new owner. That used to be the case anyway.
Having owned owned a 12c and now a 570s as well as having a few friends with McLarens I would say that understanding the fault history of the car is important. If you buy something that has had repeated faults then the likely situation is that you will inherit those faults unless evidence of clear remedy is apparent.
If you are buying at the bottom end of any market your are likely to be picking up the cars that have had a harder life. Factor in any works to be completed before putting into warranty. McLaren will want to inspect.

Yeah, the ones I have seen have all had 6months warranty minimum remaining. I wouldn’t take the risk.
Will a dealer give you the fault history on request ?
They should do, pay a visit to your local dealer and get friendly with the service guys. If you tell them you have concerns about buying a used car they should help. If not the seller could request it for you? Will a dealer give you the fault history on request ?
The other alternative is to have the car inspected at Mclaren. Could be money well spent.
this seems like incredible value to me!! I mean a similar milage and age GT3 is now 20k more expensive and it can't fold its roof!!

It’s a pretty good spec and good price but a Marmite colour.
Much prefer a bright metallic colour on a Spider

Incredible value, I had no idea the Spiders were so cheap. The prices have to level out soon because used Mclarens are bargains when compared to the competition. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

The advert says it's a 2018 (18 reg), but the wording says late 2017 so should be 67 reg. I guess the only way to find out is to contact the dealer. Also, is the manufacturers warranty transferable?
Apparently not if buying from a non Mclaren dealer, if buying private and the warranty has more than 3 months then yes. Lots of dealers get around this offering SOR but Mclaren have refused warranty recently apparently.Rocketreid said:

Black hardly a marmite colour! This looks awesome...I had an 18 plate demo car for a weekend in Apr ( from a Mcl dealer)... was for sale at 139k at the time with 5k miles... It's hard to argue a GT3 is worth 20k more than the car advertised at some point it just won't make sense.
Wouldn’t you say it is already starting to make sense? 991.2 gt3 on a 18 plate can now be picked up for 135k or this can be bought for less than 110k? That’s a chunk of change if you go with the Mac.
There’s also this factor with the 991.1 gt3 at 105k or go for a Mac 650s for 100k, the MAC is imo a hell of a lot more car for the money and that before you even consider the engine issues suffered with then 991.1 gt3.
Very difficult for a buyer to know what to do at the moment considering the changing of the market.

That is a beautiful car and astonishing value for money. I like the fact that it has driven 7500 miles too. Better than 750 miles for sure.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
At £109,995 I wouldn’t worry about depreciation if I was buying it to use it. Jesus, how much car do you want for that kind of money? Hard to beat I’d say. Have it three/four years, use it regularly and maybe it’s worth £70k? I don’t know, but how much is 3-4 years of pure driving joy worth? Probably more on a smiles per mile basis than any depreciation. Life is short. Live it.
The McLaren is cheaper than the GT3 mainly because the Mc will continue to depreciate at an alarmingly rapid rate whereas the GT3 won't.
Cars are cheap for a reason.
And a rapidly depreciating car in general terms will continue to depreciate rapidly, and Mclaren 570s whilst they are a decent package are no exception.

Can’t agree with that, it’s just a random statement with no evidence .Cars are cheap for a reason.

How do you know a 570s will continue to drop more than the GT3 ?
There are a lot of 570’s out there but at or around £90-100 k a lot of non owning McLaren people are being tempted this is probably why prices have stabilised in the past few weeks
Time will tell of course

GT3 are falling in price as well. It wasn't that long ago when a 991.2 GT3 in a good spec with low miles was 165K retailHow do you know a 570s will continue to drop more than the GT3 ?

In the first quarter of next year i think we will see good spec low mileage 991.2 GT3 starting in the 120K retail area, not in the 130K mark were they are now.
The difficulty Mclaren now have is the high RRP prices IMO.
We also need to remember most of the dealer advertised prices we see now for higher end cars are up for a level of negotiation due to slow sales.
Lets hope they stabilise soon otherwise we are all going to take further hits.
