I've just bought a McLaren 720s, my first supercar in fact. Absolutely loving this beast and the attention it draws.
I don't seem to be having much joy with traction / braking though despite the dry and reasonably mild weather. As such I'm curious if winter tyres would make much difference? The car is currently wearing P Zero Corsa

You won't regret it, did the same to my 720 recently and the difference is night and day, the car drives so much better on mps4, not only with straight line traction but in overall road holding. I'm surprised they're not standard fit as they suit the 720 so much more than the standard Pzeros.I changed from Zero's to these on my Alfa QV & it made a hell of a difference, hoping it'll do the same to the Mac!

Nope, mine went in with them for warranty work whilst i had them fitted without problem, not sure if the used car warranty differs or not but I can't see it.You might be getting confused with Porsche who will invalidate your used car warranty for non Porsche approved tyres.
MPS4S are not winter tyres but do warm up faster than the Pirelli thus giving improved traction. They are an excellent compromise for all season driving unless you fit dedicated McLaren winter tyres such as Pirelli Sottozero

With regards to invalidating warranty and potentially insurance. The tyres fitted must be of the correct size and speed rating. This is where there may be an issue as all recommended Mclaren tyres ie: Pirelli are over 200mph rated

In dry and mild weather the winter tyres will likely perform even worse (more than 7-8 degrees C), although Corsas are generally a tyre for warmer weather, as mentioned above a less focused MPS4S will work better.
If temperatures are lower than that, then the winters will work better (and if there is actual snow or freezing water then much much better than any summer tyre)

Lots of discussion on tyres in the owners club, I’ll try and summarise. PZero Corsas are a track orientated tyre so will struggle with the low temperatures at the moment. I run PZero “ordinary” and I’ve found them fine for the road and track, it’s the tyre that the car was tuned for and is an updated compound than earlier PZeros which got a bad rep. Having said that even though they get up to temperature even with temperatures around freezing you will spin the wheels up this time of year if you have a lead foot. Some prefer the Michelin’s for road use but others have found they overheat on track. Some run their cars all year round - winter tyres now then Corsa’s in the summer. hth

They come into their own in summer with minimum 15C ambient weather temperatures and a dry road.
