Fantastic car, but lose the union jack and the orange stripes IMHO.

Agree.

Union jack bit is horrible, with due respect to it.

Orange lining is ok.
+1 lose all of it. Awful how to ruin a classy car.

Union Jack is a no from me, however the Orange stripes work well with the callipers & interior Orange accents.

The orange bits, the union jack... It's a nice car but you're cheapening it a bit IMO. With all due respect, sometimes you need to know when to stop tinkering.
Fully agree with this. Looks stunning with the paint, orange calipers and badge bits, the rest is too much.

Have to agree I'm afraid. Much preferred the look before the number plates and orange striping. The orange added to the badges would be as far as I went but as others have said it's your car and as long as you like it then that's all that matters.

Would never have thought a Union Jack number plate would attract such comments. I knew it wouldn’t suit the car colour scheme and would stand out like a sore thumb (that’s the point), but having spent 10 years in the military, it is a small patriotic gesture. It’s just a little nod to the UK and that McLaren is a great UK brand - I thought it was fitting for the marque.

The orange stripes look great in the flesh - I had them on my previous 720S

Speaking personally I love the patriotic gesture I just don't think that looks aesthetically any good. And you've done such an amazing job on the rest of the car. But it's your car! :-)

It’s a wonderful gesture, and without wishing to get all American, thankyou for serving your country.

At the end of the day you’re the lucky one who can afford this incredible supercar, so all credit to you and you can do whatever you like with it!

Some lotus used to have a union jack on the side of the spoiler which I thought looked great.

For me the number plate has cheapened the car.

An alternative may have been to have the union jack painted on the underside of the spoiler. That way the car looks clean and tidy but the union jack adds more theatre when the spoiler pops up.

I think the union flag looks fine, the way everyone is talking I thought it was a huge
one painted on the hood!

I’m sure I’ve posted this somewhere on PH previously. This is how to have a Union Flag on your McLaren ...

(Well done with the paint job, looks amazing).

Lol...love that union flag on the underside of the airbrake! That would go down well up here with the independence mob! Almost makes me think about doing the same...

Regards to Macs 720, seems a heck of a lot of negative posts about a small border on a numberplate...

I am sure with the car being that low that when it is standing on its wheels it shall look just fine.

I am not a fan of the plate, but understand the reasoning and it is really a minor, personal thing. I am really happy to be able to participate in the experience, so thank you for posting / keeping us updated

Your looks fantastic.

100% improvement, send pictures to McLaren, they should copy it.

Good for you putting the Union Flag on the car subtly smile

It’s a glorious sunny day. First proper outing in the sun since the custom paint and PPF was finished.

As the car is now finished it is time to bring this thread to a close. Thanks to everyone for their kind comments. It was a real shot-in-the-dark but I am very pleased with the result.

Big Shout Out to Paint-Tec in Bristol for taking on such a difficult job and also Pro-Detail in Swindon for the final enhancement polish and PPF.

The paint finish is like a mirror. You could shave in it.

No, not at all. The end result is epic. Took the opportunity to make a couple of HD walk around videos in today’s blistering sun. Shows off the full spectrum of colour change through purple and blue.
