Stepping up to a Mclaren?

I've seen enough comments - on MOC and non-McLaren forums - which makes me think that's more of a gamble than the other two.
Not read anything about them at all so will probably go with one of the other two. As Bell and Colville are only a few miles north I will probably lean that way davek_964 said:

Or warranty wise which is what I put on my 675LT

Just priced them up out of curiousity and about the same as Thorney £10,000 limit with no excess but I think Thorney has an excess? Can get it down to £2000 with a £500 excess
That's higher than I would expectI paid £3,600 for two years with £15k limit and £500 excess on a 675LTS
Though I did call and haggle
I also liked they have a very clear and comprehensive policy document.

I'll double check later but that was just a quote from the website!I paid £3,600 for two years with £15k limit and £500 excess on a 675LTS

Well pleased so far Being honest this was really just an itch I wanted to scratch but on a brief 50 mile drive I am smitten so far. Yes there are a few gremlins I need to sort out but on the whole, awesome
what gremlins have you identified? mine had a bit of steering wheel shimmy suggesting out of balance wheels but with use its stopped.bennno said:

Mine has similar but it's only just noticeable. The keyless doesn't appear to work but I'm not sure if it was standard fit or an option? There is a tiny bit of corrosion on one panel but I'm assuming the paintwork warranty will sort this?davek_964 said:
Keyless is standard fit.
Corrosion should be sorted under warranty, but don't let them have the car until they get the panels!
I thought keyless was standard so that's another thing to add to the list unless the previous owner had it disabled? It was a menu option in my 2nd MK3 Focus RS so switchable. I'll have another fiddle later!Corrosion should be sorted under warranty, but don't let them have the car until they get the panels!
Yeah I will make sure of that. I will probably live with it till nearer sevice/warranty time in November and get it all done at the same time.
Latest update from today is that my keyless appears to work but only to lock the car not to open it. Dealer is going to look at it in early September when it goes in to have the corrosion done but is thinking he will need to change both door buttons as they have failed. I'm still convinced someone has plugged a computer in and just turned it off but it's odd it's not stopped the keyless lock from working!
