Actually, I don’t like the fact that low end cars are also allowed in, like cayman or elise.
Is or not a supercar club?
Pick list of cars listed in EVO magazine, pick supercars as reference....
Unforunately in a way, as in many cases people tend to create groups based on common things.
Having a club too generalist and diverse with all type of cars is something that some people may not like, plus, it doesn’t help in many things, like convoys or type of event/track day.

Had a right chuckle at how this thread has went!
I am with you RB...I think it seems clear what a supercar is...the EVO list or even as simple as if your car is listed within the 'supercar' forum here on PH.
For Porsche, the 959 and turbo I guess.
I anticipate the Audi boys pitching up soon with their claim!
Wish i could join in...sometimes its a real pain in the ass being located up here.
Enjoy all who (qualify!) and can make it.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to end my participation in this thread by saying that the SCC team repeatedly tried to contact me almost immediately after I wrote to them ( entirely my fault for only picking up the message a few minutes ago ) , asking to talk to me personally .
The fact that the team and the founder responded so promptly shows how efficient they are , and the fact that they tried repeatedly to contact the owner of a rusty MX5 speaks volumes about the sort of people they are .
It only remains for me to wish SCC the very best for the 16th and into the long distant future - all its members are clearly going to be in very capable hands .

It was nothing to worry about

This private and exclusive car club ( I,m almost in a complete giggle typing this out ) is NOT exclusive ...... can you not see how embarrassing it is to choose to join such a club ?
A lot of drama and long posts about wanting to be involved in a club that you would feel embarrassed about being a member of.Edited by carspath on Saturday 8th August 09:05
However, it appears as though you have made your peace and have achieved closure though.
As you were.

I’ll be joining the convoy at Bourton-on-the-Water. Forecast isn’t looking good.
Hmmm I’ve specifically booked good weather as I’m off to Caffeine & Machine for lunch afterwards! Fingers crossed, weathers been glorious this weekend.Edited by MAC 720S on Sunday 9th August 10:58

959, GT1, CGT and 918. Rest are very ordinary by design.

I was being very flippant but I do completly agree with your selection, although the 911 turbo from my young years was also a 'poster' supercar in each iteration.

Mac720S .... I spelt it out in longhand for you , so that (as a member from inception) you could maybe explain why you chose to join a private and exclusive car club whose only entry criteria is money
Instead you have studiously chosen to ignore , and not answer this fundamental point .
I will take your instructions and not update you personally on any response that the Patricians choose to respond with .
However this is a legitimate topic , so I will choose to keep the forum informed .
You say that it is a car owners club for events , and in the same posting say that it is not for discussing pistons or trail braking .
So it is a car club for actually driving .
Fair enough
So why not open it up to passionate enthusiasts with an MX5
A well set up and driven Series 1 , will not completely lose sight of a 720S on a tight , narrow and curvy Broad in the UK , if you are not totally breaking every law in town .
Surely these types of roads are the most enjoyable... you aren’t suggesting just driving in a straight line is great fun are you ?
Have I spelt it out clearly enough for you yet ?
This is nothing about driving cars or about being interested in cars .
It reeks of simple minded snobbery .... so please respond to that fundamental point .... after all you chose to join this private and exclusive club from inception , so presumably you gave it an iota of thought beforehand .
The selected cars don't make ANY sense at all .
2 further examples :
Porsche 718 is in , but 981 is not !
Really !
Why ?
The same car , but the 981 has the illustrious flat 6 boxer engine , and the 718 the somewhat less revered turbo 4 .
The Lotus Elise R from 2010 is in , but the 111R is not.
Again the same basic car , withstanding a 4% difference in aerodynamic drag due to the later body .
So you see it’s nothing about the driving ( what you call car events ) either ....... it’s simple minded car snobbery that gives anyone who wants to take on a PCP deal a free entry ticket .
This private and exclusive car club ( I,m almost in a complete giggle typing this out ) is NOT exclusive ...... can you not see how embarrassing it is to choose to join such a club ?
Do respond if you have a firm and logical set of facts to back your argument for choosing to be a member from inception .
Simply saying that a spelt out argument is mind numbingly boring doesn’t move a discussion forwards , and neither does going off in a huff .
That just suggests that you lack the facts to proffer up a decent defence .
Driving is driving whatever car you have .
The car is almost immaterial .
Fq me, just start your own car club with whatever criteria you wish.Instead you have studiously chosen to ignore , and not answer this fundamental point .

I spotted your car (I think.... if it was on the grass) on their FB post. Was it a good event?
The event was really good but the weather seemed to have put a few off.Yes, that was mine on the grass. Shame it was drizzly / overcast and the drive up from Gloucester covered the car in crap. The convoy of approx 20 cars from Cirencester encountered a flock of sheep being driven up the Fosse Way which was quite amusing.
Petrol Ped was there and has released a video of the event on his Youtube channel.
