The 111R did not exist in the early days of the Elise.

I'm starting to wonder if you're not making things up here, you certainly seem to write like someone who does.

I suppose it makes no sense to speculate at this point though, as you'll be posting a picture of yourself in your brand new 675 within the week.

I really do hope that you turn out to be being honest here, it'll be pretty sad if all of a sudden you just go quiet or come up with excuses as to why you can't.
Meant when the 111R first came out.

God this is a tough audience with microscopic analysis of my every word.
You will be asking for pictures with custard next for a car long gone.

In future every car I buy I will make sure a tim of custard is thrown in with the deal so a good time to buy shares in ambrosia peeps

It only existed for one year.

Not quite KBK, increased toe out will help with initial turn in & reduced corner entry understeer.

It's unlikely to be understeer at anything less than break neck speeds however.

I'm very surprised to hear your not enjoying the steering on your 650, I've not driven one but the steering feel & turn in of my 570 is second only to a Caterham in my experience, its fabulous & one of the stand out features of the car. Night & day compared to the dog ste steering of my last Porsche.
I’m enjoying it a lot, but I think it’s fair to say that it can never quite hit the heights if an unassisted S1 Elise.

As I said though, I’ve not really had a chance to drive it in the dry yet, so am only giving very early first impressions.
As far as my experiences go the 675LT has the 2nd best steering of any car I have ever owned or driven. 1st place goes to the S1 Elise, nothing comes close, not even my S3 Exige which is on a par but different to the 675LT. Just to be clear the 675LT steering is amazing & sublime and I can't fault it one bit. Steering is such an important part of the experience of a car and is mostly forgotten by manufacturers these days, esp. Audi!

My R8 Plus had far better steering than my earlier V8, but still just not good enough for what I wanted. Had I never owned Elises then I might not have known, but I had, so did.

That’s why I’ve bought a McLaren now, and as I said above, it’s still not there. That’s not a criticism, it just can’t be once you need assistance.

I think a McLaren is as good as you will get with assisted steering. Even trumps Porsche. But unassisted steering is best, even my NA MX5 has amazing steering when you get going but because its not assisted the rack is a bit slower than the assisted MX5's so its not as 'chuckable' at low speeds. This is where the S1 wins its unassisted and the rack is also reasonably quick. You can only get this combination with light weight and probably why an S3 Elise or Caterham would be the only sane (none track special) cars you could buy new today to get this feeling. Worst combo is a slow over assisted rack, such as a Ferrari F355. But even that is 1,000, times better than any Audi.
