Clearly you are looking in the wrong places.

I see folks still want to talk down Mac prices incorrectly but this is not just for Macs as the Porsche lot are also justifiably taking Porsche’s prices down too.

Not seen any 720s below £120k not even on the Outfit CC’s site

There's four 720S's on Autotrader below £120k, one at £114,999.

I stand corrected,

I guess higher mileage non franchised dealer
stock is going to be £10-15,000 below the norm though.

Also Mac’s are very sensitive to the luxury v performance spec and how many options were ticked

Imo a highly specced performance with mid mileage is worth the extra money and particularly if it comes with a Mac or Indy Mac warranty.

Trade price on a 35k mile 720S prob not much more than £90k, certainly not £110k

And that’s only due to the post covid boom which obviously in 2020 was not predicted

So you were off as trade seems to be circa £100k? Only 20% out though.

Also we're out of the covid boom and prices are down.

The price difference on for eg: a 68 plate performance is in region of £10 - £15k or possibly more.

Stuff is shifting when marketed correctly, a couple of 2018 good spec performance’s sold for £136,000 and £138,000 at AB’s and Thorney is shifting them also

The prices which some PH folks believe are the market prices are not.

They are, as with any high end marque the exception not the norm. Trade is still £110-£115 on proper stuff but I am sure you can get a ste spec Luxury with 40,000 miles purchase for £110,00 but it is not the market

Thats a very loose statement to justify being wrong.

The 720s market hasnt really changed in 3 years +, maybe by about 10k. A well sorted/decent colour average mileage 720s is £135 plus. I know theres lots of dreamers come on here taking the price down listing the cheapest highest mileage "x model" they can find to justify their argument, but from a Mclaren owner im surprised you dont know the difference between the two and where the market really is.

Even the no mot, no warranty 720s on cc is over £100k already, so your still 20% out minimum.

Im pretty sure as finance rates drop at the end of the month and the currant bun pokes it head out in spring, the market will recover from those winter blues as it does every year.

Just had a quick peep on AT there, surprised at the amount close to and above 20k miles. I’d wager that’s a good sign.

Question should really be, "would you buy a low mile (older) car?"

As that's the one that will have issues - the barely driven garage queen.

A regularly driven and cared for car, will be far better than one that's sat for months at a time not being driven.

For an ownership prospective you are not wrong, but from a sales perspective the low milers are still advertised for a premium, go figure.

Im sure some supercar owners are stuck thinking its the 80's where the slighest of use will result in huge bills and huge depreciation. A friend of mine was recently looking at an early 488 and wouldnt consider anything over 5k miles and still had plenty of choice, a thousand miles a year doesnt even get it warmed up, madness.

It's been endlessly hashed over but bang on Streetbeat.
I've always put decent mileage on my cars and I'm completely baffled by the 'buy it and don't drive it' crowd.

I worked my absolute bks off for years to get in the position to buy these things, why on earth wouldn't I enjoy every opportunity to drive them?
It staggers me that someone would buy a 200 grand car and then be obsessed with mileage and value. Buy a fking 100 grand car and enjoy every minute of it instead!
Why are you even contemplating spending a lifetimes worth of hard earned cash on something you are afraid to use!

Obviously you have the mega rich who buy 15 cars and pick one a month to drive and good luck to them but those aren't the people I see online constantly worrying about depreciation. I just don't understand it, it's completely alien to me.

Actually, when you own a few supercars you can use them everyday like you say and still the mileage stays low biggrin

Now THAT is man maths thumbup

I’m with you on usage, if you’re pocket makes you worry about using the car and devaluing it by putting mileage on, don’t frikin buy the car.

I think most of it was bought on by people who bought only to show off to others, they’re not people who enjoy the driving or probably even know how to drive them properly.

And no warranty if it's been sold or P/X to a non-McLaren dealer? So it would need an inspection, any issues rectifying and then a warranty putting on…not cheap! Or run an early 720s without a warranty hehe
