There is a 35k mile 720 on AT for £115k now.
That car has a missed service and has been advertised by three different traders in the last 6 months, so go in with your eyes open

Do t forget £7200 CC fees to pay by buyer and its crying out for its Big 6th year service, being sold by a Ferrari main dealer so probably been a px.
And no warranty if it's been sold or P/X to a non-McLaren dealer? So it would need an inspection, any issues rectifying and then a warranty putting on…not cheap! Or run an early 720s without a warranty hehe
Plus, if you get there and discover something is off so decide not to buy it, you still have to fork out the £7200.

I bought a high mileage 600LT spider last year but as it was under warranty, had just been serviced & inspected and had some warranty work undertaken as well as a new windscreen fitted, the quality of it was unquestionable so I didn't hesitate to buy it.

There will be similar 720s's out there but the one on CC doesn't scream BUY ME with the questions around it for servicing, condition & warranty. If the price is low enough there will always be someone that will take a punt on it, could be a bargain…or a lemon biggrin

Some people are instantly put off by mileage, but you can miss out on some very well priced cars that have been well looked after and you don't have to give a thought about using it and adding 5000+ miles a year. But everyone is different, there's no right or wrong, just make sure you buy with your eyes wide open!

Certainly buying on an auction is always fraught with dangers but particularly more so when you’ve just forked out an unrefundable £7,200 blindly

Should never ever bid unless seen vehicle in person.

However if there is manufacturers warranty left you will have some protection but no consumer protection from CC

Car now at £106500,,,, Pre warranty inspection plus 12 months extended warranty is £5281 from Mclaren on a car with lapsed warranty and over 5 years old ( that’s with nothing needing doing) need to factor this in, would be cheaper going Thorney route if this is how you’d like to play it, so with that and the 5th year service the car is already at £120K on an auction site, where are them £80K 720s cars gone now ??

Well made £113K with reserve not met, that’s over £120K for buyer, car ready for service and no warranty, obvs paintwork also not covered as over 5 years old,,

I'm amazed, I didn't think it would see 6 figures. Is there some really desirable spec on it I'm not seeing?

There are plenty of reputable places out there selling cars a year older for the same money. By the time you've sorted the Service and Warranty you're only about £10k short of a 2019 one from Thorney, and that £10k could easily be eaten up on the Auction car getting it Warranty ready.

And the Thorney one's red, so it's faster wink

Would be about the same price as the Thorney car if you went Mclaren route for service and Warranty, and as you say that’s providing everything ok with it … I suppose mileage is low which maybe tempting some people even if it is a 2018 ( 67 plate) Red tick car?

Quite bizarre to look at the remarkably low sale price of this mint 18 18 720S Perf sold on CC almost 4 years ago. A proper car and proper Covid bargain at the time for sure.

If you consider what a 2 year old car would fetch now it is ( was) an absolute steal,, strange times though back in 2020 ,,

From a completely neutral point of view without the info on here, it looks clean and tidy, its below average mileage and its Mclaren Orange.

What staggers me is it didnt meet the reserve, you would think they would be pleased to get shot of it at over £100k

Im not particularly fond of Meridian, ive always found them incredibly arrogant.

Can CC be a bit like ebay with "friends" putting in bids to bump up the price? Maybe they had some dealer mates bumping it up, wouldnt surprise me.

Yep there was a nice black 2k mile 2019 600LT on CC a few weeks later which sold for similar money.

In the rarified air of the Ferrari flipper, anything over 10,000 is beyond reasonable repair....

I jest (a bit), but 19k is really not high mileage for something you might keep a couple of years.

Fascinating thread. Going to look at a used Spider tomorrow at Hatfield. £160k feels like a lot of car for the money. Suns not shining yet, so hopefully a sensible price currently for a folding top.
