Mac it's great to see you have bought a McLaren, I'd be very interested to hear what you think about it. I sold your old turbo Chimaera a little while back, I have ended up with a Ferrari F430 but a 12C was something I'd seriously considered. Enjoy! smile

wavey Hello bloke. In brief I cannot fault this car, inside, outside it's epic. I wanted one for a long time and before I actually went for it I checked out the 'Italian' equivalents just to be sure and whilst not wanting to upset anyone on their particular choice I found them woeful in comparison especially inside. (why do Ferrari just seem to dump a dashboard in?) The McLaren is new tech, it flows from every corner and it stands out a mile and Stephenson did a fantastic job. (Clarksons a cock, 'no zing'? ffs) I went from the TVR to a 4.7 Vantage which was my must have car and whilst it was a splendid place to be and a very pretty car that I could drive all day long if required, it was a GT cruiser. Nice, but,,,,
As it stands at the moment I cannot get over the fact I have this fantastic car, it's as easily as comfortable as the Aston was and goes like phuck! but more than happy tootling around. Ahh, my old Turbo Chimaera, that was FAST! and a bit scarey, had that car for nine years and spent st loads of money and time on it. The present owner is in touch and sent me some pics and video of his recent trip to Portugal in it after replacing a five quid turbo seal and going very strong I'm pleased to see. I'm new to McLaren only having had it a few weeks but crikey, the sleepless nights I had about spending this sort of money (and bad you tubers) have long since disappeared. This is a keeper. cloud9driving

I'm over the moon for you Mac, so pleased that it's everything you expected it to be.

I enjoyed my time with the old Tivs but I feel that I've been there and done it now with TVR... 11 cars later, having sampled most of what they had to offer from the "glory days", I just felt it was time to move on and try new things. I think the eureka moment came when I realised that for less than the Sag I briefly had owed me, I could have something like what we are driving now, cars which are simply up a level (and another level again as far as your 12C is concerned!) hehe

It was a dream of mine to have a Ferrari by the time I hit 30, and take it abroad. I have missed the 30th birthday by a few months, and our trip to south of France won't be until next year now, but it's still a dream realised.

If you're ever around Yorkshire way, let me know, I'd be interested in a nosey at your car. thumbup

Well, 6 weeks in. (hope you guys don't mind) I can't stop going into the garage, grabbing a beer, a chair then just sit and look at it! I cannot believe I have one and how bloody fantastic it is. bounce
Issues? Well just had tyre changed as it picked up a nail at inspection/mot on collection day of which 'New Forest' kindly supplied a new tyre with help and thanks again to Graham at 'Autolounge'. McLaren Birmingham did the change for me and very nice guys they seem too so not an issue as such. Had a worry about the key not located in car thing but seems to be resolved with simple change of key fob batteries. Thought the Meridian DSP surround system wouldn't live up to the Aston Premium audio as it sounded piss poor by comparison on radio when I first had it, then plugged in an i-pod and it now seems as good (almost). Though to be honest it's not that important as I tend to listen to the engine rather than audio when driving, it's the petrolhead in me. The only other issue is the bloody weather and time to drive it (done 600 miles). So, I'm content at the moment cleaning it, again and again and again. getmecoat
