650 purchase advice

I’ve recently started to look for a 650s spider and spotted the volcano one at Scuderia and also a black one at mcAscot. Has anyone any knowledge of either of these cars? Am on a strict budget but may be able to make an offer on them and see what happens.
Thanks.
I looked at the black Ascot car back in June when it was 95k, it looks great but has a basic spec - I didn't go for it as it does not have vehicle lift (essential for use in London, where I live) and I was also keen on getting the upgraded sound system ( with hindsight, not sure this matters all that much). I was able to get a car with both lift and DSP, 2 years younger, for only 3k more, so went for that.Thanks.
At 90k rather than 95k, it is much more appealing - fantastic value car from a main dealer, IF you don't really need vehicle lift.
I am very pleased with my 650 spider - they are superb cars
I will need to decide re warranty come June. I think I will keep my car in warranty. It is a serious amount of money but I rationalise it in two ways - (1) it's a 250k car bought for less than 100k, the warranty makes it pretty much as good to own as the new 250k car - as posted on here earlier and also based on what others have said, it seems more like a "keep it as good as new" warranty rather than a "fix it if it fails completely" warranty (2) again as posted earlier, I think depreciation can be very low at the bottom end (sub 100k) of the McLaren market (although time will tell!) and the comprehensive warranty is one reason for this - so you are effectively paying for warranty instead of depreciation.
The Volcano Red car also looks superb, I suspect it will sell fairly quickly at 90k.

Ty, is the lift system really that essential and can these cars get over speed bumps etc safely without the lift system?, excuse my ignorance as well but what is DSP? - what were your impressions of the black car and how it drove if you don't mind me asking? At 90k rather than 95k, it is much more appealing - fantastic value car from a main dealer, IF you don't really need vehicle lift.

I think that the lift is very highly desirable, but possibly not necessary if you’ll be able to completely avoid the harsher speed bumps, ramps to and from garages etc.I use it just turning into my street, which is steep enough that without the lift I have to crawl in to it.
If I forget to use lift, I get a slight scrape when reversing on / off my drive (flat, but due to the camber in the road). I did also think I could get over one speed bump without lift, and was wrong - took a chunk out of the air deflector on one side (had it replaced at the last service).
I don't think lift is 100% necessary, but I'm very glad I have it and it would have to be a unicorn car in other respects for me to buy one without it.

Sorry - DSP is the upgraded Meridian ICE. They all have Meridian, the DSP is an option.Re lift - all I can say is that I use it frequently in London when going over speed bumps, and when I forget, it usually scrapes. I don't know if it really does any significant damage- there are sacrificial bumpers under the front of the car that take the hit anyway. But I don't like scraping my car :-) For regular use where there are speed bumps, I would not now buy one without it.
For reference - my Evora 410, also a pretty low car, never scrapes on speed bumps. The 650 is low!
I never drove the black car, so can't comment on that, sorry. It looked very nice (although I was at Ascot looking at a 12C, before I decided to up the budget and go 650, so didn't inspect it thoroughly).

I’ve spent many years and many 1000’s £ doing all sorts of delusional man maths. Your two points above are the most coherent I have ever come across so far. I shall try them out the ultimate arbiter of car finance to see what she thinks
McLarens and Man Maths are made for each other... :-)jerrytlr said:

The 650 is mine, I’ve had it since new pretty much . It’s been well looked after, I’m a member of the Mclaren owners club and also have a 675LT. But I won’t drop much lower as it’s already a good price
Are you local to Camberley? Was that you Senna in the showroom?
