If you honestly think painting over a headlamp rubber like that (very unevenly too as clearly evidenced by the enlatged photo lol) is acceptable and the sign of a good paint job on any car never mind a premium one this says more about you than me chap.
It's the light! Watch the video. If it really is as bad as your screenshot I'm sure John would've seen it!!Contrary to what is mentioned on the video, i removed and sent away the volcano orange 'cheeks' on the rear bumper to the McLaren paintshop in Glasgow as they both had parking scuffs.
Upon return and refitting they were a 100% perfect match for the rear 3/4 panels, so the volcano colours can very easily match in with existing paint without 'blowing in' or painting whole sides at a time.
My car was a late 2015, so unsure as to wether it had the new suppliers paint.
The paint did not fade on mines either; exact same colour all the way through.
Volcano orange is a stunning colour.

The issue with all manufacturers is that there is never any consistency when it comes to warranty claims unfortunately especially on paint
I think McLaren are very consistent when it comes to warranty claims on paint. If you search hard enough, I expect there are exceptions - there usually are - but I've heard of many many many instances where these corrosion issues have been sorted under warranty with no argument at all.davek_964 said:

I have found McLaren fantastic for any warranty issues; paintwork or mechanical.

Painted headlamp rubbers. They don’t give the impression of a half a job outfit so why would they let Mclaren return a sub standard car back to themselves.
They read this board, I’m sure they will clear this up for us.
One things for sure after owning 7 new porches over the last 10 years Porsche would of told you on your bike, Porsche customer service is sadly not what it used to be in my opinion and is only getting worse.

I'm pretty sure John would've picked this up if it were the case. Inspector Morse you're not.
If you honestly think painting over a headlamp rubber like that (very unevenly too as clearly evidenced by the enlarged photo lol) is in any way acceptable and the sign of a good paint job on any car never mind a premium one this says more about you than me chap. It would be unacceptable to most folks on a £4k Fiesta.
