Sorry, I should have said how it is from his experience.

I also had a single experience with them and it was diabolical. Brand new £200k car. Fix those problems sir? You'll have to pay for an independent inspection before we will do that! You couldn't make it up.

When I posted up initially of my issue I had lots of people contact me with their McLaren problems and their woeful customer service.

Lots of other supercar brands have problems, McLaren however seem to excel at not rectifying them swiftly/properly/at all (delete as appropriate).
It certainly seems that in your case they got it all wrong.

However, it seems to be a substantially larger amount of satisfied McLaren customers to dissatisfied customers.

In my experience, they never set a foot wrong and have convinced myself that I shall continue with McLaren ownership.

There are a lot of owners on here that have owned a McLaren for years rather than weeks/ months or have had multiple McLarens; and they are the ones that i base my opinions on.

You surely don’t think that he was invited to be a judge due to his expertise?!?!
1. Have you had him judge a car of yours?
I’d never met him before but at least I speak from the experience.

2. Look at who the Bagley brothers are able to assemble as judges.
They do it because they love it and they tend to sell out.
Their actual business is something completely different.
Now you’re dissing them.
And you complain about people giving their experience of their car.

Would have liked to have become a multiple McLaren owner but unfortunately I got the finger on my first attempt at £200k, that's enough for me. Fortunately my solicitor was able able to get them to pay attention. Thank God I learnt I could reject it otherwise I expect I would still be dealing with the jokers now.

From the independent report on my shed: -

"The bonnet on the nearside rear seal had started to delaminate itself.

Both front wing rubber seals by the doors were detaching from their fittings.

The roof seals that lock together showed evident polish compound swarf which will not remove.

The underneath of the rear engine cover mesh was completely covered in polish residue.

The nearside rear bumper gauze was showing lacquer lifting.

The offside quarter panel where it meets the sill was discoloured, compared to the rest of the vehicle.

The nearside door switch to operate the electric windows was broken and not fitted correctly.

Recess panel inside the drivers’ door which had been not reconnected in a correct manner and was sitting insecure inside the vehicles’ door pocket.

The top panel of the windscreen was dented.

The roof panel was also dented above the offside door.

The base of both doors show lacquer peeling."

That's only one section of the report! There are 9 others, all just as bad! McLaren's initial response when I told them about all this? I quote "Go and have it detailed, we can search for someone in your area if you wish!" Jokers of the highest order.

What's even more scary is that when they got it back they don't appear to have fixed anything! It was back on their site with all of the issues still there. I feel for the person who bought it.

Those are unacceptable when buying a new car and I'm not surprised it's put you off, £200k and you don't expect that! Most of those things look like they'd be easy to sort so I imagine as a used car it would be fine? Someone would have bought a nearly new 600LT with a good chunk of change off the asking - and I imagine the dealer sorted them this time around.

I don't think they fixed anything before selling it. My friend asked them for a video and all the issues appeared to still be there.

As you said, it wouldn't have cost a lot to fix, maybe a few K. What they should have done on hearing the issues was send me a loaner, instantly pick the car up and fix the issues.

Instead they do nothing. In doing this they give me reason to research my legal position where I realise I can reject it. They then lose someone who would have been a long standing customer, about £50k and the associated reputational damage.

I imagine someone really got their arse kicked over that. Like you say, was an easy solution. When McManchester took mine and dropped of the GT, ok I was disappointed that I couldn't use my car for what turned out to be 5 days, but I had a free Mclaren to use and compare, to put as many miles on as I wanted and a full tank of fuel to use, so it turned out to be a positive. They should have done that for you, I imagine you'd still have it now.

Hopefully it won't put you off forever. You must know that that wasn't the typical experience. Maybe in the future dip your toe again but try another dealer. Be a shame to miss out on owning one of these, its next level stuff!

Yes how it should be, Manchester treated you well.

Things will have to massively change before I step up to the plate again.

Rat Rod we saw you in a thread just recently where you made it clear you're an aged nuisance. This chap has had his own personal issue with Mclaren. Nobody denying it or claiming he's lying. Just different to most owners' experiences. Don't compare what he's said to what you have...

As do most modern Mercedes / BMW's / MINI's / Audi's etc, it's called brand identity..... (with a good dose of component and platform sharing)

TGE is ok in small doses , like Shmee i only watch them when they have something of interest to me,

Being a old fart i much prefer Harry's garage and Iain Tyrrell .

Think the story goes that the 720 was in stock and not specced by TGE and at the time they were in fairly short supply .

Very plain Jane spec with no carbon and despite some beautiful colours available for what ever reason McLaren ordered the car in white

I quite like white on certain cars but it looked a little bland with not much spec,

Yes at that time maybe he was hoping for a profit or his money back at least but McLaren did their usual trick and flooded the

market with unsold cars and along with dissatisfied customers making their dissatisfaction known on the social media prices

started to take a knock sooner than expected.

Add to the mix he had lots of problems including getting locked in the car which can't be funny when instead of onlookers

admiring your new super car ,when they realize you are locked in it you become a target for ridicule so who can blame him

for having a go especially as he has the wright tool to do so.

So with McLaren being totally unhelpful and unable to unload it due lack of interest from any of the dealers with possibly low offers or

none at all. The similar thing happened when he purchased a Lusso to secure his Pista ,

With the Ferrari dealer unable to sell the Lusso on his behalf i think he part exchanged it on a stunning 458 spider .

The 720 collection video was on his channel ,couldn't be assed to go back and have a look.

I think the original post is about how boring it is for TGE to still bleat on about a few small but annoying niggles he had on a car that he owned for about 4 months approx 4 yrs ago.

He really needs to move on.

However, fair enough as he has had one.

What niggles did your McLaren have that you keep popping up here and having a go at McLarens and trying to get other owners to bite?

Agreed...clearly some are wandering in territories they clearly cannot afford (normal depreciation) and even on a lesser level: servicing itself!!!
These virtual guys always complain how servicing is too expensive, how everything is not complementary, etc...mechanical/moving parts do wear and tear, but also break down - what do they think???

Very sad...all this to show off in a virtual world! pathetic
